party ♔ ding-dong the dick's dead

WHO || Everyone. Everyone come if you're not on a mission.
WHAT || A party to celebrate Dimitris Sarandis sleeping with the fishes.
WHERE || Knights HQ. The fancy ballroom.
WHEN || Mid-March 2016.
HOW || Prose or actionspam welcome.

Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

[Barry just hesitates before raising one hand to rub at the back of his neck.]

Yeah, I've also kind of ... done it.

[Oops? Did he forget to mention that?]

Wh— How?!

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-17 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
I run really fast? Like mach two and higher fast. And apparently, if you go fast enough you can break into something called the speed force and it'll allow you to travel through time. First time I did it was an accident, the second time on purpose, but going back in time? It just ... screws everything up.

[At least in Barry's opinion.]

... Speed ... force. [ She slows her speech, both to confirm she heard him right and to emphasize how ridiculous it sounds. ] So can you do it again? Can you go into the past? What if you went further back in time here than in time you've been through the Veil?

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-18 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head because no. Nope. Not doing that intentionally, but also at the same time ... ]

I can't run as fast as I used to. Coming through the Veil ... slowed me down some. Plus, I'm not really sure even how it works? A lot of it is emotional and getting into a place where I'm that scared or upset is ... a lot.
hacker: (It’s called fall because everything is)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-06-21 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
The Veil changed your powers?
supertardiness: (Default)

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-27 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the working theory? And I mean, it's not that noticeable - fast is still fast - but definitely not traveling through time fast.
hacker: (i’d be a terrible superhero)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-06-27 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, now I'm definitely team lab rat. I've never heard of something like that happening before.

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-27 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Really?

[He frowns a bit at that.]

I mean, I just figured it was a side effect of how I got here. Not just the Veil but I was kind of running into this huge singularity event. Not all worlds work the same?
hacker: ("fight me helen")

[personal profile] hacker 2016-06-28 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
So let me get this straight: you think maybe you got power drained before you hit the Veil, on your side of it?
supertardiness: (Default)

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-28 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs.]

Maybe, yeah. I mean, I was planning on using my speed to try and reverse the singularity. So maybe it stole some of it, and then the Veil happened and bam! A slower Flash.
hacker: (*takes 50 selfies*)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-06-28 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the problem with the Veil, you know? There's just too many variables for us to even begin finding real answers to how it works—like, we figure something out, but we can't be for sure because we're also dealing with amnesia and a one-way street.

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-28 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods in agreement.]

Yeah, that's true. But for right now, it's not interfering with me doing my thing, so I'll just consider myself lucky that things weren't changed more.

"Don't think too hard about it?" Interesting solution.

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-06-29 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[He laughs.]

Well, it's either that I stick to what I'm good at - helping people - or I wind up ... obsessed trying to solve a problem that may not be able to be solved. Personally, I'd like to choose the more productive option.
hacker: (typing without looking at the keyboard)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-06-29 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
You can't do both?
supertardiness: (Default)

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-07-02 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Heh. Skye, you don't know him very well.]

I mean, I could, but I'm ... easily focused. I spent fifteen years obsessively trying to solve the last problem I had ... didn't really leave me a lot of room for a whole lot else.

[He may not remember Iris, but he remembers his father, telling him that he couldn't keep holding himself back.

Also the last problem he had was trying to prove that his father didn't murder his mother - Barry, that is not the same kind of problem.]
hacker: (me laying in bed talking to myself at 1:)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-07-05 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I heard somewhere that admitting you have a problem is the first step to solving it. But ... that isn't necessarily true if after you admit it, you just keep rolling with it. [ Sigh. ] What I'm saying is ... if you know you can't do things halfway, isn't that a reason to try to ... I don't know, figure out how? Instead of letting it hold you back from answers.

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-07-07 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods slowly in agreement.]

That's fair. To be honest, this is the first place I've come to with the tech to even attempt to figure out what's going on with me, and I've already given the Hoard access to my suit to monitor my vitals and draw information from it.
hacker: (mom: pick it up now)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-07-08 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
With enough time, they might even be able to get you back to where you were before you switched into low power mode.
supertardiness: (Default)

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-07-14 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess we'll have to see. If anything, it's kind of like normal human endurance ... I just have to build it back up again.
hacker: (i’d be at home and see the signal)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-07-18 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Training for superspeed? I mean, the treadmill might not be the best bet, but I bet we could set up a circuit around the grounds.
supertardiness: (Default)

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-07-18 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. Or there might be an abandoned airstrip nearby I can use.

[It's worked in the past, at least.]

Mostly I've just been running to and from London.
hacker: (I guarantee your son smokes weed Susan)

[personal profile] hacker 2016-07-20 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
To and from— [ what. that's an hour drive. ] How long does that take you?
supertardiness: (4)

[personal profile] supertardiness 2016-07-20 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
About a half hour one way? Probably faster if I really pushed myself, but if I use my speed too much I get hypoglycemic, and it's probably bad if I get there in fifteen minutes and the promptly pass out.

[He shrugs.]

So I run in, fuel up, and then run back out again. Sometimes I spend the day looking around the museums and stuff. Did you know that King Henry VIII's wine cellar is still under the Ministry of Defence?
