Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already somehow.

[There appears to be some reply on the tip of her tongue but in the end she simply presses her lips together and sinks back into her chair with her arms folded across her chest, letting the subject alone before she gets herself worked up before the briefing even starts (WS 25).]

[Fixing her attention on Wynn as he walks in the room, Rose just nods in his direction and keeps her mouth shut for now.]

I'm sending you to seek an address with the Carmilla, head of all the vampire clans in France. We're hoping that she may be able to offer us some insight into who was behind the attack on Sir Dragomir and Sir Rast, who were killed by vampires in Paris last year, a matter never satisfactorily concluded.

[Rose tenses, her hand curling into a fist but when she opens her mouth to speak, she at least sounds for the most part, unaffected by Wynn's words.]

According to the ones we spoke to, Carmilla is involved with some group of Elders who keep the rest of them in check. They shouldn't be too happy about a couple of rogue Vampires killing for... [Eyes darkening.] Sport, like that.

What we know about the Carmilla is very little, but I have reason to believe that it has become more of a title than a name - passed from one vampire Queen to the next, as a way of preserving an image of untouchability, consistency, something these Elders seem to value. We know that these Elders prefer to live in the most civil manner possible - drinking only from willing victims, avoiding drawing attention to themselves to keep hunters at bay, and that they set the rules by which all the clans of the area agree to live.

Our team in Paris tangled with a group of rogue vampires who refused to follow the Elders' code, were murdering with abandon on the streets of the city. While these were the likeliest suspects for the murder of our Knights, all the vampires who belonged to that group were accounted for, it seems, at the time of their deaths.

There's something we missed. [ he pauses, and looks to ashley ] And I am not the only one concerned about Sir Magnus' abrupt leave of absence. If there's a connection between all of this, I need to know it.

So we are officially looking for her too while we're there? Good.

[Her priorities are pretty obvious. Oops. Also she managed to keep the 'finally' from slipping out, somehow. Everyone should be proud.]

[Rose's lips press into a grim line at the mere mention of Helen, eyes falling to stare pointedly at a scorch mark on the round table. A reminder of Archer's alcohol fueled - literally - tantrum. Her whole body radiates with tension, as if in response to it.]

No offense, Wynn, but you want us to talk with Carmilla and this is the group you've assembled?

[ it really should be no offense to everyone else but gus doesn't actually care about offending everyone else. which might be part of the reason he's so judgmental of the group, he's only tactful when he needs to be. ]

[Well, Elijah's definitely interested in these Elders. He glances at Gus.]

I take it that's why I'm here, to handle things with Carmilla?

[Seeing as how he has no personal ties here.]

[With a Nat 20 Will Save, Rose merely lifts her gaze to stare, blank-faced at Gus for a long moment.

Elijah's words however drag her attention towards him and there's a slight nod, as if of approval from the Dhampir before she allows some of the tension she's been carrying to release from her shoulders.]

Indeed, Sir Mikaelson. As for the rest, [ he looks to gus, and then slowly across the others, his expression gravely serious ] I've lost enough Knights to this mission and we have no way of predicting how the Elders will respond to being approached.

I need Knights who can hold their own against these vampires, should they prove hostile. [ his gaze travels past dean and rose, and back towards ashley and gus ] And Knights who know Sir Magnus well enough to recognize any pertinent information you may receive.
