after-party ♔ april

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || April 1st, 2016, 6:00PM [backdated]
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Having the gap of Stiles is definitely something she isn't sure how to manage. She's certain that Stiles would be his sounding board, that he'd be dropping all this information on him and Stiles, under normal circumstances, would be making charts and lists to make sure that everything is okay.
Maybe Allison needs to step up. Maybe she needs to fill that gap. To be the one that believes him, and helps him sort out how to make sure they're safe.
That they -- don't die?
Her brow furrows, concern washing over her features.]
Scott, no one's leaving here -- and so far no one's died. If you want help making sure that things won't happen here, that we can be safe from them -- I'm here. I'll do whatever I can to help.
no subject
Don't die? [ He looks up at Allison. Trying to hold her gaze, but his jaw tightens. His hold on her hands is slowly tightening as well. The tension is still radiating throughout his body. ]
no subject
Right now, she just wants Scott to stop worrying about whatever has him so afraid. She allows him to tighten his hold on her hands and she steps in closer to him, trying to ensure that she's not looking away or that she's afraid of whatever he's not telling her.]
Scott... [She lets his name trail off softly, nodding as she tries to agree with what he's asking of her.] I'm careful, I promise. I never go without back-up. [Except, you know when she goes off by herself to go tracking in the woods...]
I want to tell you not to worry, but I don't think anything I say is going to stop that from happening. [She smiles at him, trying to give him something to be optimistic about.] Have hope that it's going to be fine, Scott. Trust the Knights, trust me that we're going to all make sure that we're all safe.
no subject
Probably not. [ No amount of words will make Scott suddenly just not worry about her anymore. Probably not for the reasons she thinks either. Scott knows more than anyone that Allison Argent is not indestructible. ] It's hard to trust this place when I just got here. Especially when it comes to the people I love's safety.
no subject
no subject
Okay. [ He breathes her in after a moment. ]
no subject
She lets it linger, probably longer than she should, but when she pulls away she smiles at him. Affection and trust obvious in her expression.]
Come on, let's get back to the party.
no subject
He smiles and nods his head. ] You're right. [ He stops before they go in though for a moment. ] Thank you.
no subject
[She smiles and takes his hand so they can head back out to the party. They dance a bit more and get drinks and then they part ways. They'll circle back around to each other, but she wants to find a few of her friends and she's sure that he should at least spend time with some of the other Knights here. He's going to be helping them and it'll be nice to not be strangers with anyone on mission with him.
Allison talks to Cora and then to Isaac. Of course, then when she does circle back around to Scott she has a curiosity she wants solved when it comes to Isaac.]
Hey, [She approaches him with a smile and a pink fizzy drink that she thinks has raspberries or cherries in it.] having fun?
no subject
Hey. You're back. [ He greets her with a wide smile. ] I am. What about you?
no subject
He asked me about what I remembered from the last time I saw him.
no subject
[ He knows he's around here, but he figures that Isaac will find him when he's ready to talk. Whenever that is. ]
Right. Um. Maybe he's just nervous? I mean it could just have been a while for him. So he's--feeling things out? [ He's not an awesome liar, but he's trying (bluff 18). ]
no subject
He didn't seem nervous, he seemed upset. [She pauses and reassesses.] No, disappointed. He seemed disappointed that I told him that I had seen him outside the school when he was trying to get Boyd and Cora into the school.
[She frowns.] It wasn't just getting used to being here.
no subject
I probably should let Isaac tell you this, but back home you and him were--I don't actually know, but you were two were together. Or something. [ Everything kind of got crazy though towards the end. ] He's probably being weird about that. [ It's not technically lying because that could be the issue, but still (bluff 21) ] Maybe he's upset you don't remember it?
no subject
Together or something? It's not the or something, is it? [Even though that's punctuated with a question mark, she definitely didn't ask it like a question.] I just.
[She shakes her head and then looks to Scott.] Did the Veil take that from me?
no subject
No. No. [ He shakes his head. ] It hasn't happened for you. Probably for him. Honestly, I don't know much about it. You and him were spending a lot of time together. He was actually your anchor when we went looking for the Nemeton. You two got close after that. I wasn't thrilled, but I made my peace. [ He shrugs. ] I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner.
no subject
Comparing it to a test is not helping her calm down.
She closes her eyes and tries to shut out the thought that there are a few other things in that answer that she doesn't know. How can someone else be her anchor? She's not a werewolf. Why would she need an anchor to go find the Nemeton? What is the Nemeton?
Taking in a slow, deep breath she just shoves it all aside. She opens her eyes as she exhales and shakes her head.]
It's okay, Scott. I wouldn't even know where to start if I knew things that someone else hadn't been through.
It's weird, though. It's just -- there's all these things that you know about, about me. Things that I don't know and I don't think it's keeping secrets, it's just... I don't know. [She lets out a nervous laugh.] I wish there was an easy way to figure out what to do.
[She glances to him.] I won't ask you about it. I mean, I think this is probably weird enough for you.
no subject
Scott frowns when she explains. Not because he's upset, but because he feels bad. This is a lot. He feels like he's going to be doing this a lot with his friends. He knows so much. He has so much information they're missing. ]
It's okay if you want to ask me about it though. I was dating Kira at the time so--I couldn't be that angry at him. [ She might as well know about Kira. Because he doesn't need that biting him in the ass at some point. ]
no subject
Her hand slips from his, not in a quick motion, but it's meant for a disconnect for her. She holds onto her hands, wringing them a bit.]
Probably not here. I should think about it. [She glances up at him, a hint of worry on her features that she probably doesn't do very well to cover up. She tries to focus on the good things. On the thought that they're here together, that they have things they can handle, like this, together and it will all eventually work out. She exhales a sigh and tries to smile.]
Who's Kira? [She tries to ask in a way that sounds actually, genuinely interested. Not in some way to try and give herself a reason to stop thinking about how wonderful it had been to be here at this party with him.]
no subject
She was my girlfriend back home. [ He says. It has to be voiced. ] She's a shifter too. [ It's been three years since he saw her though. Three long years. Scott isn't sure how he feels most days. He figures that's probably because out of sight then out of mind right? Isn't that how it goes? ]
no subject
Still, Allison puts on her best smile (bluff 14) that isn't her best, but she knows that this isn't the outcome Scott had wanted for tonight. She sniffs a little, trying to make sure that she isn't actually reacting more than she realizes (will save 18) and looks away as she tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear. Some nervous habits never go away no matter how much training she's done.
Looking at him again, she tries once more for a smile (bluff 12)
but the dice hate her.]Let's go get a drink. [She just skips the rest of the conversation for now.]

The first drink is a definite choice she has to make to finish it. She doesn't drink very often and when she does it's simple things that have a lot of fruit and fizz to them. She's always been too focused on her training to go out with everyone else and even at these parties she's stuck to the simple glass of champagne that she sips carefully through out the evening.
Allison doesn't start off with the soft ordering of a whiskey sour. She's not even sure if she'll like it, but her dad drank them. She figures that's at least a start. It burns the first few times she swallows, but eventually the burn mellows to warmth and she just clings to the glass, standing by Scott's side.
One drink transitions into three.
She doesn't cling so closely to Scott's side. Instead, she wanders a bit. She doesn't talk to anyone, but she does stop and try to think of something to say to someone across the way before deciding against it.
She can sense Scott lingering as she finishes up the fourth drink. She's leaning heavily against a pillar toward the side of the ballroom. She's not drunk, doesn't feel drunk at least (con 14), but she feels something. She feels upset, but she can't sort out how to even put that into words and she feels hurt by things that haven't even happened. She looks at Scott and her features fall a bit, the forlorn glance of already feeling upset that she ruined this for him.]
I'm sorry. I ruined this. This really nice. Really nice night. Until all that stuff. That stuff that I - the stuff that I don't. [She knows that it isn't that she doesn't know it, but that she hasn't lived it, but that just sounds more ridiculous to her.]
All that stuff.
no subject
Scott tries to look for her though. He catches glimpses. Finds her. Loses her. Finds her again. It's a repeated cycle that he can handle. Finally he catches back up to her. He lingers. He watches. Makes sure she doesn't fall or hurt herself. Not that he thinks she's a sloppy drunk, but something could happen. It takes a moment before it's registering that she's speaking to him. He smiles warmly at her. Trying to assure her with his face alone that nothing is ruined.
He steps closer and puts a warm hand on her shoulder. ] You didn't ruin anything, Allison. I promise. It's okay.
no subject
It doesn't feel okay, Scott. [She says it, but she's not even sure what it means, because she had just given him this amazing pep talk and here she is now feeling like nothing is going to be the same again. Her fingers slide from his elbow to his wrist and then she takes his hand and cradles it against her cheek, leaning into it as she closes her eyes. It's probably too much.
It is too much. She knows it, but as she swallows thickly she just lets this be something that's okay for the moment.
It feels like much longer that she lets it stay there, but eventually she lets it go and pushes her hands through her hair. She forgets that it's all pinned up nicely and her fingers get stuck, tugging a part of it out. She laughs, the quiet laugh of someone who doesn't really think it's funny, but just unfortunate.]
I should go.
