Oh, nothing much!

[ Lear's eyes widen, earnest. ]

I was just a little concerned about your attitude towards Sir Carpenter during our briefing. None of my business, I'm sure, but I'd hate to miss out on any opportunities in my first mission simply because you can't control your temper.

[ The sweetest of smiles~ ]

You're right, it is none of your business. And as for missing out on any opportunities, I'm sure you'll scrounge some up. [This is said in a completely neutral tone, her eyes now guarded and challenging.]

As for my temper, I wouldn't concern yourself with it overly much.

It's good that you're showing concern for your Knight, though. He is lucky to have you as his Squire.

[lear]

[ Scrounge some up. Lear's eyebrows raise, and her tone has more steel to it when she speaks again. ]

Only a little concerned. Mostly I think it's a little unprofessional, to belittle a Knight in front of their squire.

[ She waves an airy hand. ]

Fortunately for Sir Carpenter, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm just grateful to be in the charge of someone as informed and driven as he is.

But do try to avoid doing it in Japan? It is, after all, a culture built on shows of respect and politeness — oh, but I'm sure you've done your research already, don't need me blabbing on.

It's lucky for him that he's got you to be his cheerleader then, isn't it? I'm sure he can handle a little banter between himself and another Knight, but do keep defending him. It's good that he's in charge of someone so loyal. I'm glad to see it. [Her tone at the last is completely sincere as her eyes flick to Eric, her gaze softening a moment, then going back to Lear.]

As for my conduct [her tone sharpens at this, her eyes steely now as she looks at the other woman] while in Japan, that again is none of your concern. I do not need lessons on etiquette from anyone.

[lear]

Of course not.

[ Lear doesn't sound convinced; but then, this sort of reception only proves her point. Cheerleader, really. But through effort of will she keeps her tone as jocular as usual, even if her smile is a little fixed. ]

That's all I really wanted to know. I look forward to watching you all work.

[ And she stands to switch seats again before her temper gets the better of her. ]

[The slightest smile returns to Alainn's face when Lear stands to leave. She hadn't really taken much notice of the other woman aside from seeing her at the meeting and that she was Carpenter's squire. Now that she had a measure of what she was like, she would be sure to keep an eye on her.

They seemed like the perfect match to her.]
