[Remember how tense Katniss was?

Well, Katniss didn't have access to the little bottles of complimentary in-flight booze. That doesn't change much, though. He is still very uncomfortable with this, even if he's been in hovercrafts before. THIS IS NOT A HOVERCRAFT. WHAT KEEPS THIS THING UP? WAT HAPPENING?

Drink every time you think too much about the plane. It's the best drinking game ever. Unfortunately, there is not enough alcohol in the world.]

[Guess who is concerned by your behavior, Haymitch? The dwarf, of course! ... Not because he thinks you are full of unhealthy life choices, but because there's a limited supply on the plane]

Better be leavin' some for the rest of us!

[Hello, extremely short person.]

Wouldn't worry about it too much. You probably won't need as much.

[Dovan scoffs, picking up one of the mini bottles] In what kinda world can a dwarf get his thirst properly quenched with these piddling little things?

[attollores]

[Alainn slides into the seat next to Haymitch having noted how tense he was. She holds her hand out with two little white pills resting on her palm, giving him a slightly raised eyebrow.]

This will help ye relax if you'd like? Especially if ye combine it with the amount of alcohol you're consuming. [She doesn't sound condescending, just like she doesn't want him to think she's interfering with his binge. She does sound a bit concerned, but it is buried she hopes far enough that his inebriated state won't allow him to recognize.]

[He gives her a deadpan look.] I think I need another addiction like I need a hole in my head. [Because that's one thing he remembers- if there were actual drugs to numb the agony, then they were probably addictive and far more destructive than alcohol.] Pass.

[attollores]

[She shrugs her shoulders, her hand closing on them lightly.]

They're not addictive, it's Xanax which helps with sudden anxiety attacks, and is to be taken as needed. [She pulls a tiny bottle out of her pocket and puts them away, pocketing them again.]

I hope I didn't offend you by offering. [She shrugs lightly again, then clears her throat to change the subject. If there was one thing she really didn't want to do it was to alienate herself from her Squire. He may be "too old to be a student" and cranky to boot, but she really liked him so far and wanted to be as helpful to him as possible.]

I feel bad that ye didn't get a proper tour of the castle or grounds. We can always do that when we return, but so far are there any questions I can answer for you?

[Dovan's making the most of the flight by... eating all the in-flight meals ever. Yep. GOTTA STORE UP ENERGY FOR ALL THAT... detective work. Stuff. Om nom nom.

There's definitely food in his beard 8( ]

[Aasdadsfasdlkj Dovan. You're the best, she doesn't even care. Best mentor.

Andrea, restless as ever, settles herself down next to him and picks a piece of pretzel out of his beard with a grin]

Ever been to this place they're sending us?

[ironsides]

[He looks only a little chagrined as she grooms him, clearing his throat a bit]

To Japan? Aye! A few times, though not for anything so grisly as this.

[piratitude]

I'd be surprised if it wasn't grisly. That's always the kind of thing that merits attention. Well, that and theft. Which, I guess it sort of is, given the point of the view of the poor bastards that have been killed.

[Eric passes most of the time reading. Most of it's boring stuff like... the news. Police reports. There are no romance novels. Sob.]

[lear]

[ Lear has pushed up the arm-rests between a row of three chairs, and with application of complimentary pillows and wadded up blankets, has managed to make herself a narrow bed to sprawl wholly unsafely upon. It's close enough to Eric, though, that she can twist her head around to look at him, hair in her face. ]

French hat, consumed to castigate. Six letters.

[His eyes flick up and over towards Lear, as if surprised he's being addressed. It takes him a second to process what she's saying.]

... Are you doing a crossword?

[lear]

Is that against the rules? Should I be practicing how to say I'd like to buy a kidney in Japanese?

[ She's just teasing. But she doesn't actually seem to have a pen or paper in her hand. ]

It's a cryptic crossword clue. "French hat, consumed to castigate."

[lissatrinall]

[Lis'sa has a pad of sketch paper open on her knee, and sits curled up, looking intent upon whatever she's doing]

[lear]

[ Lear peeks over Lis'sa's shoulder from the seat behind her, interested in the other woman's activities. ]

[lissatrinall]

[If she notices Lear looking, she doesn't react at all, her pencil making quick, harsh strokes across the page as she draws an incredibly rough sketch of what appears to be locations where bodies were found on a city grid. She doesn't even bother to look at any paperwork to double check her locations, either, seeming to recall everything from memory.]

[Andrea has her face pressed up against the window like a kid and a grin on her face to match]

[Alainn can't help the smile that comes over her face as she see's Andrea's genuine delight at the flight. Once she finished studying her spells it was time to mingle with the other members of the team, and at the dance she had really taking a liking to the other woman.

She reminded her much of herself.

Awesome, of course.]

Do ye like the view?

It's fantastic!

[She sat back a bit and turned to look at the other woman]

I can hardly believe it's not even magic.

[James is for the most part reading himself, periodically scribbling notes or drawings into a notepad on his knee as he reads. And no the book isn't anything super interesting, just a rather thick anatomy book.]

[attollores]

[Alainn is quietly eating a snack, earbuds plugged into her iPod and bobbing her head along to the music as she stares down at the PDA in her lap for the first hour or so of the flight. After that she gets twitchy and finds a need to talk, so she will be getting up to stalk some people on the plane with her.

But for now, she seems open to any and all distractions.]

[lear]

[ Lear comes and takes a seat alongside Alainn at some point when she doesn't seem too busy with food or people, and taps her lightly on the shoulder, motioning for her to remove an earbud. She smiles politely, keeps her voice low. ]

A word?

[Alainn looks up as Lear taps her shoulder, taking her ear-buds out completely and shutting the device off, giving the other woman a friendly smile.]
