The plan has been set, and the Knights are on their way to New York City once again - this time with the desperate hope fueling them that they can save two of their own, instead of simply endangering them further.  Jack and Buffy have greater stakes in this than anyone - as it is Jack's fiancee, Gar and the love of Buffy's life, Rafael, who are currently in the grip of the vile villains that have plagued them for the last four years.  Knowing fully well the risks that are inherent in potentially facing down the dangerous Mind Master, who shattered Myri's life in an instant by breaking Finnick Odair's psyche, their plan is to divide and search the warehouse as quickly as possible - knowing that every second counts, when an alerted team of bad guys could take the lives of their captured friends.  

It's an unparalleled gamble, but may be their only opportunity before Rafael and/or Gar are moved from the facility.  To that end, they converge at a nearby hotel...

[What a time to break out a Nat 20 Will Save. Rose merely staring, blank faced at Dumage as she twirls her stake in her hand.]

Might not hurt to have somebody hit the roof once we find them. They seem to be big on Helicopters. [And a clean... er, getaway would be nice.]

Maybe they learned their lesson when we blew up their last one.

[ jack fixes kat with a sobering look, before changing the subject to something inclined to ground her commentary ] We have no idea what ... condition we'll find Jeanne or Rafael in. To that end, the Light has sent us a few potions. Two for each group going in. [ and he'll hand out two small vials containing cure moderate wounds potions to Dumage, Rose, and Felicity ] Enough, hopefully, to get them on their feet, if need be.

[Felicity takes the two cure moderate wounds, and stashes them separately from the ones she brought for herself. If either Rafael or Gar need them, she'll make sure they get them.]

Is there any other recon we should try and do before we go in there?

We hijacked some satellite feeds, but we haven't see anyone going in or out. That doesn't rule out people using non-visible entrances, though.

In other words, if they're going to surprise us, it's going to happen. There are some things that no amount of preparation will have us ready for.

Nothing about that's new, is it? [Spike takes a drag from his cigarette and exhales a cloud of smoke.] Good thing we're so bloody used to improvising.

[Taking the vials from Jack, Rose nods along at Spike's word as she slides the potions into her pocket.]

Expect the worst and go from there, then.

[She nods.]

Sounds like a plan to me.

[Myri seems to visibly relax as the potions are handed out. Look, she's always worried about not being there when people need her. And while they might be for Gar and Rafael, she's glad that they might be able to help anyone out if need be.]

Then if we've no further matters to discuss, I suggest we get moving.

[ kat has wandered over to the window, which she's pushed open to catch a quick smoke out of, but something has caught her eye and she squints a bit as she stares out that way ] Some kinda scene out there. Police tape... cop cars. [ she pushes open the curtains a bit more with two fingers ]

Holy shit, I think that's a body bag.

[Spike stands up and walks over to peer out behind her (spot 33). At least it's sundown so he can actually bloody look without catching fire.]

What're the odds it's got nothing to do with us or ours?

[Felicity does not think the odds are high. She glances to Jack.]

Want me to go check it out?

[She is one of the least recognizable of the group if it is related to their mission.]

[What was Spike just saying about improvising?!

Yeah she's got nothing to say that hasn't already been said but she is on her feet, waiting for Jack's call.]

[ jack evinces no sign of being ruffled by the change in plan, but he does nod to felicity after a slight pause ] I think that might be wise, yes.

[ kat glances over at spike, who can see that there are lots of passerbys stopping to get a look at the scene as police try to give them space. there's a blood splatter against the side of a building, and the body bag itself is incredibly large - he wouldn't judge the occupant to be human. ]

I'm not taking that bet.

[Felicity nods, and after grabbing one of the comms will leave the room to head down to the scene, if there are no objections.]

I'll keep an eye on the hallway, just in case.

[And assuming there's no objections, Rose will follow after Felicity and embrace the pace and wait outside the room. (Spot 31, Listen 35).]

[ With her 39, presumably Buffy notices the same thing, and it seems to be the only thing that loosens her shoulders and allows her eyes to finally draw away from the body bag. Her exhale comes late enough that it makes her realize she'd been holding her breath in the first place. Tension drains out of her body, though not entirely—it means their friends are still alive, for now. ]

It's not Jack or Gar. Wouldn't be that big.

Did you expect them to drop their dead bodies on our doorstep as a warning to back off?

They'd have to know we're here to do that. [Which they... sure might. They can't count on the element of surprise. But they can hope for it.]

If they do, then we're all fucked.

If the Mind Master's in there, they definitely do.

Time to find out, I imagine. [ he lowers his hand from his ear after speaking with felicity ] It seems unrelated.
