Killian sad sailor friend has long fled, assuming his wife is long dead, but the Knights have come to find out the truth and discover what exactly the skum are doing with these villagers and stop it. Because it is definitely horrifying.

So, an honest-to-goodness pirate ship, eh? Or is that honest-to-badness.
[He's not sure. Either one is pretty terrible, really.]

[Thoster grins a bit, always happy to help introduce another soul to the joys of the open water.]

[He smiles grimly. Whatever might have happened before he'd come through the Veil, well, who knows?]
I don't feel too off-kilter, though. Maybe the sea's in my blood?

Care to lend me a hand with this?
[He's doing a ship related task?? Idk just go with it. We can fake it together!]

You mean since I have so many now?
marian hawke | ota
no seriously, this reminds hawke so forcefully of isabela that she's actually homesick. not that she's ever really sailed, but it's the idea. and isabela had always been fun to be around. so hawke can't say she doesn't miss her now.
another thing she'll have to tell ashe when she gets back.
as it is, when she's not helping sail to the best of her ability, she's leaning against the railing and letting the ocean breeze blow her short hair around. she misses home, wherever home is now. not here, not really. she misses a bunch of things and people she can't remember.
wrapping fingers around a piece of rope, she hangs on, letting people come to her for talk, should they wish. ]

[ pause as she glances at their "captain." ]
Then again, she might try to mutiny and overtake the ship for her own, so it might be better that she isn't here yet.

Not before now, no, but I did once know someone who wouldn't stop talking about getting a ship of her own again. She'd probably mutiny for this one if she were here.
[ okay so hawke could probably rein her in if necessary. maybe. it is isabela. ]

I've faced a mutiny or two before. Never ends well. It's fortunate for your friend she's not here to try.

blackcove
The battered homes and hovels of thsi ramshackle fishing village cling precariously to the coastline, tightly nestled among the rocky crags. The tall, worn stone tower of a lighthouse perches on a natural jetty that intrudes rudely into the surf, breaking the waves at awkward angles. Old boats tug gently against several rough wooden piers.
As Killian ties the boat to one of the docks, a light rain begins to fall.]
Don't like the smell of this. Storm's coming strong.
no subject
all the same, the people she's working with could also be considered something of a storm, so maybe she's not entirely off. she's ready to disembark, though, and does so as soon as it appears safe to.
but not first. someone else gets to take point. at least at first. ]
no subject
Whatever we're up against, I'd rather have my feet on solid ground when it comes-- storm or beast.
[He's done with the boat for now, thank you.]

As they walk up towards the town, it's pretty clear it's mostly residential, arranged around the docks, but there are a few shops. What there don't seem to be a lot of is people. Make your spot/listen checks, everyone.]
