The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many. Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility near Las Vegas. It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return. Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.

[David takes his coffee from her with a small smile, pausing his packing for a moment to talk to her. Not that he has much to pack, but he's leaving Lissa's cat in the care of a friend in town, and all of it's things have to get packed up to go with it.]

I'm glad you came back.

I didn't want you to make a scene.

[ duh.

she strides over to confidently pick up oscar, holding the overweight, ugly cat in her arms with ease now that she's not holding the coffee. ]

I know you love to be dramatic.

[He laughs a bit at that.]

Dramatic is my middle name.

[No it's not. But there's probably only so many dramatic duty, honor and the world speeches that Lila can take.]

I thought you'd be more of a Andrew or James, honestly.

[ good, generic american boy names. matthew, john, paul, something in the bible, perhaps. ]

I don't really remember what it was.

[Time and the Veil has eaten away most of those memories, and it's possible that he didn't even have a middle name.]

I don't remember much before Everworld.

I don't remember mine, either. And it wasn't on my licence. [ which she did come through with, but what her middle name is eluded her. she didn't even get a middle initial. but then again she doesn't remember her parents' names either so a middle name would be sure to get lost in the shuffle. ]

And yet you remember that you're a Cubs fan. That's disappointing.

[He gives a small shrug and a smirk.]

Some things, you just know in your gut. Why fight instinct?

Don't serial killers act on instinct?

[ if he didn't expect her to be like this he shouldn't have brought her home. ]

Are you saying that Cubs fans are serial killers? Because I think that's a pretty extreme analogy.

Some of them, for sure. But it was more a case against blindly following instinct.

[David rolls his eyes.]

I think this is a fairly harmless instinct to follow.

If you insist.

[ like a better team, david! you're worth that. don't hate urself like this. ]

[Hey, the Cubs win the world series. Eventually. Sometimes loyalty is important. Plus, it's not like the Yankees have been great lately.]

I do insist. At least about the Cubs. They're not as bad as you say they are.

[ ooooooooooooooooooookay buddy. lila lets it drop, lifting her drink to him as if in cheers. ]

Thanks for bringing me back.

I'm just glad you came. We're going to need everyone we can get.

[Because it's definitely sucky, that's for sure.]

Well, you know I aim to please.

[He smirks, before grabbing the cat carrier and placing it on the bed.]

Here, give me the big guy.

[Time for him to get wrangled up to go to his new home.]

He's going to hate the flight.

[ poor kitties and their inability to chew gum on a flight to relieve the pressure in their tiny ears. lila hands oscar back to david, making sure his arms are clamped around the cat before she lets go. ]

[He shakes his head.]

He's not going on the plane. I'm taking him to live with a friend in town.

[Just in case he doesn't come home, Oscar will theoretically have a forever home, and David won't have to worry about him being underfoot.]

Oh. Give him back then I haven't said goodbye properly.

[ she holds her hands out, demanding. ]

[David smirks a bit before holding the cat out to her so that she can say goodbye, moving on to pack a different area of his belongings while he did.]

[ gathering oscar up in her arms, lila kisses his ugly face, scratching behind his ears until he starts purring. ]

Be a good cat.

[ satisfied, she gently wrangles the cat into his carrier with ease. cat whisperer. ]

What do you think about Solace and Hasmed?

[Well, that's a loaded question. He's quiet as he weighs out to answer it.]

I don't know. I definitely got into it with him not long after everything went down and I think they're not really open to hearing other people's concerns now that they're in charge. I also think that while getting closer to the problem is a good idea, I'm not sure we know enough to bring the entire castle there.

[Putting too many of their eggs in one basket is a bad plan, and even if they just broke them up into teams and scattered them a bit, things might be better, but still, it's a complicated situation.

It's not like anyone has ever seen the end of the world before. Except for maybe David.]

Something has to be done though. And I'm not really in a position to make a call on what that thing is.

So you brought me back for that. [ dryly: ] Thanks, David, truly.

[ but whatever. she knew what she was getting into when she came back, she still chose to do so. she can't rag david too hard. ]

I don't know enough about either of them to trust them and Wynn's trust in them only translates so far: he's let some people in here that do not belong near access to so many weapons.

[ he's knighted some shady ass bitches. ]

[David doesn't deny that. Deadpool exists.]

Yeah, but given it's the end of the world, we need all the weapons we can get.

[He means that both literally and figuratively.]
