[ Kenzi had threatened Paige with a ladies night and of course, if anyone needed a night out it was Bo. The fact that there's also a talking Tree, a drinking Raccoon and... Drax? It's Kenzi. Why is anyone shocked by the people that she spends time with? She has ideas and they spin out of control and you just sort of hang on for the ride. It's her way. She may have casually mentioned they were coming here to a few other people, so if you happen to show up as well? The more the merrier.

The location itself isn't exactly filled with the garish glitz and glamor that a person generally associates with Vegas. Pandora has a British Pub meets modern day speakeasy feel to it. It's known for its signature cocktails with names like Panty Dropper and the Hot Little Mess and you can always count on live entertainment in the form of dancers, magicians, a band and of course, a DJ. It also happens to be one of the few clubs that has an open door policy where Shadowkind are concerned. Whether they'll be rethinking said policy after tonight? We just don't know. ]

[ There is a moment, where in spite of everything she's said in the last minute, that Kenzi seems to preen a little at that line. A smile pulling at the corners of her mouth as she catches his slow and deliberate perusal of her body and she finds herself starting to do the same to him. (I rolled a 3 okay.)

And then a hand is coming up to block him from her line of sight because clearly, she can't be trusted to look at his stupid face! ]

Noooo. [ She's not doing this. She is not letting him charm his way into her pants again. Her pants? Charm free zone! (Wis 19). ]

[ and then peter rolled a great sense motive... to pick up on the fact that kenzi is totally vibing on him, despite her protests. and failed his wisdom check to pick up on literally anything else. it's his dick that is controlling the dice now.

he leans in reaaaaaal close, with his head parallel besides her but facing the opposite direction and muses quietly enough that it's clearly just meant for her to hear: ]

[ We all probably thought, well at least he didn't break out a charm check but it turns out, it didn't matter. Because with that 2 I rolled, there really is no pretending that she's not incredibly turned on right now.

It's in the way her eyes close, her hand gripping the edge of the bar a little too tightly and she's almost gone with the way his scent invades her head and the heat of his body, his breath, dances across her skin.

[ And it's as if, in saying it? The spell of his Pelvic Sorcery is broken and Kenzi pulls back so she can look at him, letting him get a good look at her in the process as she runs a hand down her form like she's a model showing off a prize in a daytime quiz show. ]

I am a nothing else will do and you? [ Something unreadable passes through her blue eyes but they harden too fast for it to be obvious what. ] Go back to your blonde, Quill. [ And she takes a step back. ] Or your redhead. [ And another. ] Or whichever one it's going to be next week when you get bored of this.

[ and as she starts to leave, it finally fucking clicks in place ] Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. Are you talking about Kali? [ his eyes search the room for the blonde in question, nodding in her direction before looking back at kenzi as if to confirm ] We're not here together. Just together. [ quickly: ] Friend together! She's, like, my best friend on the planet.

[ Well. It's entirely possible. She feels like an ass right now but is she going to acknowledge that she was wrong and embrace the possibility that maybe Peter Quill is not the manwhore that she keeps desperately trying to see him as?

It does show on her face, however. In the way her shoulders tense as she slides her gaze to Kali and then the way she tries to get a read on him, wanting to be sure it's just a friends thing because she swears to god Peter if you are lying? She will have your nuts dipped on bronze for Christmas... while they're still attached to your body.]

Oh. [ Yes. That's it. That is literally all she's got. ]

[ awkward. he doesn't make a move to bridge the gap she's created between them yet, but clearly looks a little chagrined and uncertain ] Look, you kinda give off this vibe like you want to kill me half the time, which, don't get me wrong, is... kinda hot and I'm into it, but makes it a little hard to get a read on what that was, exactly. [ "that" clearly referring to what happened in the training room, which he seems... equally confused about tbh. he offers a small half shrug like he Doesn't Care At All even as he says: ] Just hoping not something in the 'regrets' category, at least.

[ There is just. Not enough alcohol in the world for her to begin to know how to have this conversation. ]

You… infuriate me. [ This is what she leads with? Somehow it sounds almost like she’s not trying to insult him?] You – Are – Cocky? You flirt with anything with two legs and a heartbeat and you’re just… so smooth that it sounds like every words that comes out of your mouth is a big fat line designed to get me naked.

[ But then he has these moments where she sees something very real from him and that’s what actually scares her shitless. Peter the manwhore she could handle it was the rest that was in an endless state of Ahhhhh. Of course. She’s not going to say any of that.]

And then there’s the dancing and the thing about my eyes and I don’t know okay? I don’t know what that was I don’t know what this is. I do know, I don’t want to regret it. [ She pauses a moment and the begrudgingly adds.] And that most of the time I don't actually want to kill you.

hey, he's probably flirted with some things that had more than two legs in his day, let's be fair ] We don't actually have to figure that part out right now, for the record. The 'what that was' part, I mean. [ he's quick to mention that, because he can sense her discomfort and his own commitment phobia sure isn't eager to steer into that one either, soooo ] But I'd prefer you don't try to shank me in my sleep because you think I was just -- [ being a player? he finds it hard to contest it too hard, because god knows he's been that asshole a lot of times in his life, but... ] You know. [ Her weight shifts from one foot to the other and she’s trying to find the lie in every word that passes his lips but she can’t… and she’s not entirely sure how she feels about that. It would be a lot simpler if he could just be the manwhore. The player who doesn’t give a damn as long as he’s getting his because if he’s none of those things with her at least? The smile she was so reluctant to give now fights its way across her face, Kenzi dipping her head as if she can keep him from seeing the idiotic grin that the whole bar is likely amused by. ]

Oh my god - you're the worst. [ Try not to sound like you enjoy it Kenzi and maybe he will st- Oh who are we kidding? ]

Does that mean you won't have a drink with me?

[ What it means is that she would really like to stop grinning like an idiot teenager with a crush but she can't because I rolled another 3. Stop. Just stop.

She manages to pull together some semblance of composure - just barely - and cocks her head to one side, taking him in and giving herself every opportunity to stop this here and now. ]

[ The thing is... having conversations with Peter when she's not mocking him and he's not actively flirting? It's not really something she knows how to do. Theirs was a relationship strongly built on the foundation of her ego checking him most of the time.

Put Kenzi into a situation when she's not sure of what she's doing? She has about as much finesse as a bull in a china shop.]

[ Is this a terrible conversation to have when you're just trying to establish a tone of normal that doesn't involve bickering or tearing of clothes off? Probably. Is she aware of that? You bet. Can she seem to stop herself?? Not a chance.

Her gaze flits in his direction, tracing the outline of his profile as he stares at his drink. A finger running through the condensation on the outside of her own. ]

[ in spite of himself, that makes him crack a kind of impressed and amused smile himself ] Wow, that is... savage. And really... really tempting.

[ A warmth touches her eyes at seeing that smile, a secret one of her own tugging at the corner of her mouth and while she thinks it looks like she's merely been stomping through that conversation... the viewers at home might at least recognize the intent behind everything she'd said.

God forgive Kenzi ever say 'so I've been thinking about you given that thing you told me five million years ago that you probably thought I forgot about.' ]

Lifting a hand to cover her mouth and casually disguise her oh so amused grin, needing a moment before she can respond. ]
