Parked out on the curb outside one of many buildings lining the downtown area, Lis'sa glances out the tinted window, surveying the scene, before looking back at the others. She's all glammed up in an elegant kimono-inspired red dress with her hair accentuated with two carved sticks. She turns back to examine the other women in the back of the car as well, as Eric keeps an eye out in the rearview mirror from where he sits drumming on the steering wheel.

"Are we ready?"

[ ooc; please do Disguise checks (Charisma based) -- and of course, Alainn's got the magic flowin' to add some reptilian features where needed! ... non dragony ones. ]

[The next spell she casts is invisibility sphere , centered on her and including Lis'sa and the girl.]

"Okay, we're invisible to them now. Let's clear a path to the door, Eric should be ready for us."

[lissatrinall]

[ lis'sa speaks up with grim determination ] If we attack them, the spell will disperse. We'll just have to try to avoid them. Stay close. [ and that'll be a move silently check as they try to make it to the door. lis'sa gets a 15, while the girl has a 12 ]

[attollores]

Lis'sa, you go first, I'll prepare another spell just in case we need a big cover. [Alainn gets a 14 move silently check. She has Lis'sa take the lead, again keeping the girl between the both of them. She's praying the crowd is loud enough in all the confusion that they will pass unheard.]

[lissatrinall]

[ luck seems to be on their side in the chaos... until they reach the door. a very large shouldered snake blooded man stands directly in front of it scowling and looking past them for signs of trouble, a gun in his hands.

lis'sa hisses: ] Can you disarm him?

[attollores]

Yeah, give me a moment. [Alainn closes her eyes a moment, beginning another spell as she releases the one she had been holding. Looking at the guard on the door she first casts daze . Once that hits the guard she immediately casts mage hand on his gun, jerking it to the side and hopefully pulling his dazed self with it.]

[lissatrinall]

[ he failed the shit out of that fort save, so the gun is easily ripped out of his hands, as he's not maintaining a good grip on it anymore. unfortunately that means he's still standing right in their way. lis'sa hesitates, knowing she can't exactly overpower the guy. ]

Around him. [ she makes a break for it, pulling the girl in tow ]

[attollores]

[alainn hesitates briefly, distracted by the commotion and chaos taking place behind her. when she looks back lis'sa and the girl, are out of the building already. she leaps after them, startled enough to bump against the guard as she tries to dart past (dex 7).]

[lissatrinall]

[ he tries to grapple her... but she does get an attack of opportunity! ]

[attollores]

[(atk 14) there is no finesse in her attack as the guard tries to grapple her. she shoves her shoulder into his abdomen, using the force of the blow to (hopefully) propel her through the door.]

[lissatrinall]

[ well considering he crit fails, he ends up falling backwards with her on top of him, breaking the door down as he does so. ow... that probably... knocked him out. ]

[attollores]

[yeah she sure doesn't stick around to find out if he was for sure knocked out. as soon as they're through the door she's on her feet once more, making a bee-line for the car and the rest of the team.]

[sirstickuphisass]

[ eric's got the vehicle vrooming to life when they come out, and with a 15 drive check, he pulls right up on the curb, hitting the locks open. lis'sa tosses open the back door, all but pushing the girl inside and climbing in after her. eric pulls up his excalibur as alainn gets her door open, and fires a covering shot past her head (atk 22). ] Come on, O'Rourke!

[attollores]

[she dives in, letting out a shrill whistle and holding her arm out the window of the car. Fede lands on her limb within a second and she is pulled into the vehicle as alainn turns to Eric.]

Step on it, Carpenter!

[sirstickuphisass]

[ and awaaaay they speed wheee ] What the hell happened in there?

[attollores]

[she glances into the back seat to Lis'sa and the girl to establish they are okay.] Oh, you know, ritualistic eating of humans under the cover of an evening soiree. The usual.

[sirstickuphisass]

[ they seem alright, although the girl is staring out the window, dazed. ]

Great. I take it she was the meal ticket?

[attollores]

Right-o. [Alainn reaches over the seat to touch the girl on her arm lightly, trying not to startle her.] Hey sweetie, you're okay, you're safe now.

[behindcloseddoors]

[ the girl jerks a bit, before yanking hair out of her eyes, shaking her head. ] They're eating people.

[attollores]

[a scowl crosses her features as she nods, glancing at lis'sa.] Aye, apparently they are.

[behindcloseddoors]

[ the girl shakes her head violently ] Someone has to stop them.

[attollores]

That's what we're here for, darlin'. [grim determination paints her features]

[lissatrinall]

This is much bigger than we initially realized. [ she addresses alainn and eric, rather than the girl ] But at least we know what to alert the authorities to, so that they can help clean this up.

[attollores]

What about contacting HQ for back-up? [she turns to the girl, struck with a thought]

Were there others with you? Any other prisoners?

[behindcloseddoors]

I... I didn't see anybody.

Who are you people?

[attollores]

We're an organization that helps with situations like this, when the police don't know where else to turn.
