[Earlier in the week all DRAKENET devices received a message announcing Francesca's birthday party, courtesy of Sir Bancroft, to be held the evening of July 11. No RSVP needed. It's especially good timing now that many mission groups have returned to the castle, at least for the time being.

As the guests make their way in, it's clear the party's been well stocked with food and drink. There's plenty of room for mingling and some music in the background. Gifts are completely optional, but welcome. Come in and get comfortable.]

[The sound of laughter will always draw Thoster in. He likes to find a good time, and finding happy people is the easiest way.

That, or a girl who has had a few too many drinks.]

A man after my own heart. [He claps a hand to the large man's back and looks to set off for a new drink.] Afraid I didn't catch your name- or give my own in kind. They call me Thoster.

Dragon's Tongue, eh? [Thoster's read up a bit about the factions within the Knights.] So I can count on your story being all the better.

I'm but a humble diplomat: that doesn't make me an accomplished storyteller. Certainly not on par with a bard!

[He holds a hand to his chest.]

You flatter me and my brethren. But we share the same gift! I've met many diplomatic folk who could stand toe-to-toe with me once they had a few drinks.

Very kind of you. Hmm, a story, a story. I've been with the Knights so long that tales are a dime a dozen! Why, back in my golden days, we were taking down the Nazis!

I'm afraid you may have to work a bit hard on this one. What's a Nazi, friend?

Ahh, of course. Many years ago, a power mad yet charismatic man sought global domination at any cost... His followers were the Nazis, men who followed him in either fear or fanaticism, spreading his reign of terror across the land, until the forces of good triumphed.

Ah, a tale retold in any history too often. [he says with a sad sort of nod] But so long as good prevails, there's something to drink to by the end.

Ay, that it did. And we had many a drink, I assure you! The world hasn't seen the like of him since, thank Bahamut.

[bluffcheck]

[Thoster quirks a brow] I thought you had a dragon look about you. Would have been terribly rude to assume.

[Because for all his bluntness, Thoster worries himself about racism, of all things.]

Half-dragon, as a matter of fact! No need to be shy about asking in this day and age, you know.

Surely more than half? You're three quarters, at least! [He's laughing again.]

Ah, you seem like a good man. Tell me, are you any good on the water?

I take it that's your domain, if you're asking.

Aye. Have my ship docked at the river. It's no ocean, but it does the job.
