[Earlier in the week all DRAKENET devices received a message announcing Francesca's birthday party, courtesy of Sir Bancroft, to be held the evening of July 11. No RSVP needed. It's especially good timing now that many mission groups have returned to the castle, at least for the time being.

As the guests make their way in, it's clear the party's been well stocked with food and drink. There's plenty of room for mingling and some music in the background. Gifts are completely optional, but welcome. Come in and get comfortable.]

I'm sure it is. So... this mission of yours. Was it dangerous?

Of course. Like they send us on any other kind. [More dangerous than he can even admit with what he knows now.]

[She slides a step closer.]

Really? I'd love to hear all about it.

[bigbad]

[She's not particularly subtle about her interest, but after dealing with Buffy's mixed signals all night, that's pretty nice. This girl actually seems to know what she wants.]

We fought two displacer beasts. Ever seen one of those? Nasty things.

[See, the thing is... is that Faye's more subtle than she lets on. Her interest isn't really in him as much as it's about what he can offer her. If he's someone important, come back from a dangerous mission, then she wants to be seen with him.]

Can't say I have. Sounds... big.

Not really. But it had this magic... disruption field thing. [He waved a hand vaguely. He's not nearly as important as he's acting, but he's always happy to brag.] So they were bloody impossible to hit.

[She visibly perks at the mention of magic.]

Must not have been impossible if you're here to tell me about it. So what's your secret?

Well, I got lucky a few times. [And Buffy got luckier.] Wasn't so tough once my fist actually connected.

[She puts on her best 'interested' face, but really you can't compete with Riddick's bad ass display.]

Sounds like you had more fun than I did. They sent me to a monastery.

Really? You don't strike me as the monk type.

The interesting type.

The monastery wasn't so bad. I got to watch Riddick kick some guy's head in.

Nothing quite like a good head-kicking. [He grins at her.]

Well, it's fun. [Or so Spike presumes. He doesn't actually remember kicking in any faces. Seems like the sort of thing he'd enjoy, though.]

[Faye officially likes Spike. Or at least likes him more than the rest of the people at the party.]

You want to get the hell out of here? This party's kinda lame.

[Spike's been enjoying the party, for the most part. But he doesn't mind leaving with a pretty lady.]

Yeah, all right. Where do you want to go?

How about we grab a couple of drinks to go and see what trouble we can get into? [And by that, she mostly means just aimlessly wander the castle and snoop around. But to her, her way sounds cooler.]

I do like trouble. [And also drinks. He offers her his arm.] Sounds like fun.

[She slips her arm through his and guides the pair of them to the bar area for some drinks for the road.]

Vodka cranberry. [She takes her drink with a gracious smile, happy to be polite for as long as it suits her.]

[bigbad]

[Spike orders something that's probably a kind of whiskey and idk anything about liquor so just pretend it's something really intense and hardcore. /best at rp.] Not sure how anyone handles parties like this sober.

I don't know why anyone would try. [She tosses back before heading for the door. SEE YA SUCKERS. Once outside of the room, Faye turns and walks backwards to face her new companion.]

I feel better already.
