[Earlier in the week all DRAKENET devices received a message announcing Francesca's birthday party, courtesy of Sir Bancroft, to be held the evening of July 11. No RSVP needed. It's especially good timing now that many mission groups have returned to the castle, at least for the time being.

As the guests make their way in, it's clear the party's been well stocked with food and drink. There's plenty of room for mingling and some music in the background. Gifts are completely optional, but welcome. Come in and get comfortable.]

Myri's with Finnick. [ her eyes scan the room for them. ] Kat, Gar and Mark were ... somewhere near refreshments last I saw them. I haven't seen Martha, but Spike's probably taking a smoke break. [ she tallies off on her hand. oh and there's dumage too but she's sure not talking about dumage because it wouldn't be anything nice. ]

fred's eyes dart across the room once again, and he smirks to himself ] Everybody sick of each other after long term assignment?

Just the opposite, I think. We're trying to get sent back out.

[ his eyes happened to zoom right to the refreshment table, where they're still lingering a bit now ]

Oh yeah? [ he sounds a bit distracted, but surprised ] Must be nice. Insta-besties, huh.

More or less. A lot's happened, it's hard not to get cozy after that. Kat even promoted Myri.

They seem like very different, uh, types of girls. Guess they got along though...

Pretty well, too. I mean, we didn't exactly evangelize Kat to the concept of nail-painting or anything, but ...

I'm pretty sure the stuff would make her break out in hives.

I'm trying a slow-exposure approach. Eventually, maybe her allergies to estrogen will be lessened.

Personally, if it's her thing, I don't see what's wrong with it. Besides the bruises she leaves on the rest of us, I mean.

There's nothing wrong with it, but there's nothing wrong with the girly stuff either and she acts like it's toxic.

Don't hate it. [ a beat, she looks down. ] Though the verdict's still out on this dress. They always talk about how pretty they look, never mention how hard it is to walk in. Stupid skirt.

Not actually a dig for compliments, but thank you. [ she says it with a smile. ] So how have things been going around here, anyway? Have you gotten put out on a mission, or just more fun training sessions?

I'd go stir crazy just training noobs all day. Flew out to Portugal actually. Entire creepy castle fell through the Veil onto a hilltop.

Creepy castle ... [ waitaminute. ] With Val'drin?

Yeah, he actually came out of wherever he hides all the time to do some fieldwork. Not that we got to spend a lot of time working together. Sort of split the party upon... entrance.

He really does have a way of disappearing. How'd that turn out, anyway?

Before or after we almost got ate by crocodiles in the sewer?
