The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Robin is definitely going to take it as a tease, and since it fits rather well with his often self-deprecating humor it draws a quiet chuckle from him. ]

I suppose it does. And thank you. How long since your ceremony, or is that like asking a woman how old she is?

[Ty offers a sharp grin in response to the question and shakes his head, glancing away a moment. All right. So he wasn't terrible yet. At least if he made an effort no one could say he hadn't tried to play nice with the other kids.]

Last month. I do not have quite that much of an advantage over the rest of you. I didn't actually go to our party. I was... [advised.] encouraged to attend this one.

I don't see the point of them. People pretending to be things they aren't, uncomfortable, impractical clothing. Standing around in a decked out room just to try to impress one another with their tail-feathers fluffed out.

It's nothing more than a theater production and everyone is wearing a mask.

[Why is he even telling this man any of this? He'll just scoff at the unsocialized cat like everyone else and Ty's fur will get rubbed the wrong way, and he'll make a fool of himself right in front of Wynn and the knights. This was exactly why he didn't come to these things.]

True, but the same could be said for just about any occasion when people come together and interact. We all wear masks, whether we admit it or not.

I suppose you're right. It just seems much more obvious at an event like this.

I would suggest seeing that as an opportunity. Makes it easier to spot what people are trying to hide when the masks they wear are less cleverly camouflaged.
