The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

The parties that I've attended are not generally in my honor, I'll admit.

[He's usually playing security of some kind instead.]

Maybe if I stay in the other end of the room. Next to you I'm Of Average Height, Dark and Moderately Attractive.

[ Not that it seems to bother him even a little bit. ]

I can't say I've had parties thrown in my honor either, unless you count birthday bashes.

This would still be a very extravagant birthday party.

And I agree. It's certainly not in a price-class I've ever been able to afford.

That's a detail I can't recall, but if my comfort level in this one is any indication, than neither was I.

No, I was born here. Well, in Wales if you want to get specific.

[ Robin does want to, because he's damn proud of his home. ]

Ah, I've never been. [Though he certainly wouldn't mind seeing it.] This world's version of my country wasn't so different.

And what country is that?

Russia. [Given his name and the slight Russian accent when he speaks, it wouldn't be too surprising to anyone that knows something about it.] At least, the places and names certainly seemed familiar enough. And I knew the language.

Sometimes all is at it seems to be then.

Do you remember much from your life before you came here? I'm sorry if that's prying.

I don't see it as prying, especially due to the fact that I remember very little. I know what I am, what my job was, and facts of my world. As to my personal life? I remember close to nothing.

That must be troubling. Though I suppose it could be seen as a fresh start of sorts, depending on how you want to look at things.

Sometimes I think the things I've forgotten may be more troubling than losing them.

[He shakes his head.]

I'm sorry, that must sound strange.

Sometimes a blank space is easier to put behind you than a memory, I imagine.
