The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

A great unnamed king?

A king who once was, a king who now is but has no need of it, and a king who will be. It waits these days for a king whose heart and intention are pure.

Like-- [You know what would be awesome right now? Memory. Luckily she's not a moron and there's a Disney movie she can fall back on. Yay for childhood best friends.] Are you babysitting Excalibur?

One day, I think you'll give a straight answer and no one will realize. [You know, because Lila is a liar, so she lives on the idea that everyone else is lying, whether they realize or not. In this case, she simply means an answer that isn't annoyingly vague and cryptic.]

I imagine it's happened before.

Is it Excalibur? [It is actually a question now, not just some rogue pondering that's jumped into her head. Lila doesn't like to ask questions because she hates seeming like she doesn't know, but she'll make an exception for this, even if she's fairly certain she's not going to get an answer.]

if circumlocution is what she's expecting, she's about to be surprised. he looks at her with a steady, curious gaze instead and says simply: ]

Really? [Wait, really? Her mouth just pops open in surprise before she manages to squelch that down and shut it. She's cool, she's cool.] Are you the Lady in the Lake?

You'll have to ask Arthur.

[Nope. Wynn is the Lady in the Lake, the glass dragon is the stone, the sword is Excalibur. Fact. It wasn't like she missed the Round Table in his Room of Great Intimidation.

She smiles, like a teenager, not the heiress to a crime family. Which really, she needs to stop that. She's got a reputation to maintain. Wynn and his Dragon Claw need to quit it.] Oh, I will.
