The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Good point. [A smile that almost becomes a smirk still in place.]

I am all for letting loose, but I can think of better ways to do that.

[So many openings with that line Rose, especially with that tone of voice.]

I prefer a more, physical form of unwinding.

[A beat.]

And damn, this girl was a tease. Miles could certainly appreciate a good bout of flirting.]

Sparring, you say. Is that what they're calling it these days?

[He's kidding. Mostly.]

[Well played, she thought, her grin widening, the near laughter making the corner of her eyes crinkle as a grin pulled wide across her face.]

Yep. You caught me. What can I say I thought it might be far too forward to say what I was really thinking.

[But there was just enough sarcasm in her tone to suggest that she still meant the real interpretation.]

I don't know. I don't find dressing up and making small talk with people to be all that fun. [A beat.] Present company excluded.

I'm catching you in all kinds of things tonight, now aren't I?

[He's clearly joking around as well, though. He's not opposed, of course, but he knows better to than assume. The girls around here aren't the typical dumb blondes he used to pick up in dive bars years ago.]

Mm, I'm sure. [He shrugs his shoulders.] It's fun every once in awhile. I like something with a bit more adrenaline in it, myself.

You sure are. [Head tilting, amusement dancing in her eyes.] And here I thought I was hard to get.

[As for Rose? Well Rose has always been partial to flirtations but when it came to following through? It took more than a handsome face and winning smile to win her over.]

Yeah? [Brow raised.] Same actually. I'd prefer to skip all this crap and get straight to the missions. I'd rather be out there doing something rather than sipping champagne and trying not to faceplant in things that would make a better weapon than they do shoes.

[Rose being a little more like herself, not the flirt but the Guardian who knew the importance of duty.]

What would be the fun in that?

[And frankly, he'll like that more. Because the girls that go home with him right away? He never talks to them again.]

I'll admit, I'd hate to see what a dangerous girl could do with a pair of those. The only thing more terrifying looking would be an actual blade.

[Because seriously, four inch heels were as bad as an icepick.]

[Her grin widening.]

See that's why I have the heels. Nowhere to hide a blade in this dress. [That sparkle still dancing in her eyes.] Besides. [She leans in a little as if about to share a secret.] Who says I need a weapon to be dangerous?

Fortunately for me, I'm very persistent.

[His does as well, leaning forward slightly to catch those words.]

Oh, fiesty. I like it. Life wouldn't be fun without a little danger, though, now would it?

Good to know. [Still smirking lightly.]

Feisty? [She nods her head from side to side.] Yeah I guess that's one way to put it.

[It was far more complimentary than what most people would say.]

I... wouldn't know. Never managed to keep it to just a little.

[cuivre]

[He chuckles.]

Well, then, maybe you should share a little bit.

Hmmm. Never been very good at sharing either. [Pointing at herself.] Only child.

[Not that it would have mattered much on account of never having parents around but, semantics.]

I might be willing to make an effort for you though.

[cuivre]

[He points to himself.] Same.

[He looks pleased enough, though.]

Two attractive people. Dangerous situations. I can't think of anything more fun.
