The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Where are we? [She tries the door again, like Charming didn't do it right and it's still locked. She frowns, but then abates her wondering and slight annoyance with a snack, chewing thoughtfully.]

I bet we should have turned left somewhere. It's always left.

[uncease]

We can turn left here? [He gives the option, but... oh another Navigation check of ...3... means that it does the opposite of what they want and only leads them further into dark halls that they have not explored yet. After they've headed that way for a few dozen steps he looks around and mutters.]

So much for left.

[graveflowers]

Well. [She huffs out a sigh, putting a hand on her hip. It's dark, but she can see fairly well since she's a super special aasimar snowflake. Still lost as all get out but, whatever, they have options.] We could always find the garage later and explore now...

You know. While we're here.

[uncease]

I guess we don't have much of a choice. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll just stumble across it. He looks down the hallway they were headed down.] Want to just keep going this way?

Why not.

I wonder if this place is secretly a Labyrinth. We should have brought string.

[Which Violet says right as she walks into a door handle. (Dex 8) Apparently seeing in the dark doesn't help if you're not looking where you're going. Ow.] Oof. That's a door.

[uncease]

[He pauses and puts a hand on her arm.]

You okay? [Even klutzy people need a little sympathy. Actually they probably need it more than most.] Maybe that's an interesting door? [He looks at it and gestures.] After you.

Yeah, I'm fine.

[How chivalrous. She gives the handle a little jiggle, but it's locked. Just a normal lock though, not the magic key car lock.]

Hold this, please. [She passes off her plate of rapidly dwindling snacks without really waiting for David to protest, and crouches down in front of the door, tugging a bobby pin out of her hair, flinging it back from her face. With some finagling and some really rude sounding Latin swear words, she straightens out the bobby pin and puts the flat side into the lock. She looks up and flashes David a grin before she sets to work.] I learned how to do this when I was fourteen.

[uncease]

[Charming will just stand there with the plate and watch her work. His eyebrows slowly creep up as she crouches down to pick the lock.]

You sure are full of surprises.

[graveflowers]

[It takes more time that Violet would have liked, like a whole flippin' minute, but eventually all the tumblers are pressed into place -- she really needs a proper pick set -- and she hears the soft click of the lock disengaging. (Disable device 18)

She rocks back on her heels before straightening up.]

Just trying to keep you on your toes. [Much like a model on the Price is Right, she uses her hand to display the door.] After you.

[uncease]

[The dice have made the decision for the fate of what was behind door number one and it's... a bar! Who knows why it was locked. Maybe someone did it on accident. Charming finds the light switch along the wall and flips it. The room is eerily empty. He turns back to Violet.]

I guess we can get the after-after party started.

After party of... two. In an empty bar. In a, wait, why is there a bar in the middle of wherever we are? And not, like, in the ballroom. I am so confused right now.

[She frowns, peering around before perching on a nearby chair.]

[uncease]

Maybe for entertaining that doesn't need such a big space? Or Wynn's a closet alcoholic and doesn't try to hide it.

[He moves behind the bar to check out what's going on back there.]

Drink?

Well sure, I would love one, good sir. [She pauses a second.] well, at least well figure out if its the latter if Wynn gets pissed at us.

[uncease]

[He grabs something simple like vodka and hunts down a sprite, because that's a drink that even he can't screw up.]

I doubt he'd mind. I mean he's given us jobs and rooms. A few drinks can't be that bad.

You make a good point, sir.

[uncease]

[He pours her a drink and slides it over, leaning on the bar and trying to look the part of the friendly bartender.]

Long day? [okay so he's mimicking a movie or something. It's over exaggerated to be a joke. Just go with it Vi.]

[He is adorable. One day she will get over this. (No she won't.) She grins at him, go with it she will.]

Long enough. You know how it is.

[uncease]

Let me guess. Fell through a Veil, got Knighted. Yeah, I know how it goes.

[He can't hold character to save his life, though and just cracks a grin.]

[Vi can't even keep it up that long, snorting into her drink like a dweeb.]
