It's that time again. New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Monday - which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.

Sir Luthir stands off to one side, all impassive elf, armored in his light, beautifully worked metal, and carrying a sword. Red-headed Sir Ironsides hefts an axe over his shoulder and offers a boisterous greeting to those approaching, and Fred helps round people up to the middle of the room.

Some of the squires' mentor Knights will have accompanied them - others will have left them to their own devices. Everyone's welcome to tag into threads or make their own!

[Well that one definitely stings. His forearm has a pretty nice sized cut, but nothing so bad that he has to stop. Tis but a flesh wound, basically.]

Yeah... I'm alright. Nice moves, though. What was that? Something like...

[And he tries to mimic it. He's slower, but the power is still there. (Attack 27 (crit) Damage 10... which for the record is the smallest amount of damage he can do on a crit, so thank goodness for small favors???) Now it's his turn to get concerned.]

[TOO BAD THAT'S ENOUGH TO TAKE ANDIE DOWN. She lets out a little gasp at the blood and faints.]

[uncease]

[His sword drops immediately and he runs over to her collapsed body.]

Oh my god... Andie! Andie, can you hear me?

[When she doesn't respond, he scoops her up into his arms (Strength check 19) and looks around the room wildly.]

A little help here!

[nepotism]

[ oh hey charming, fred's been keeping an eye on you from his fight over there with dimitri, and NOW LOOKS LIKE A GOOD TIME TO EXCUSE HIMSELF so he runs over ] Whoa, whoa! Is she out?

[uncease]

[He turns towards Fred, still holding the unconscious girl.] Yeah. It just... happened! I didn't think I would hit her that hard...

Is she going to be okay?

[nepotism]

She'll be fine. We'll bring her next door to the cleric's wing. You wanna help me lift?

[uncease]

Yeah, I got her. She doesn't weigh much. [Good thing Andie is a tiny thing, since he was already holding her.]

Just lead the way and get the door, if you can.

[nepotism]

[ oh right W/E he'll open the door and point the way across the hall to the med wing ] Do you and I have to have a chat about knowing our limits?

[uncease]

We were just sparring. I didn't mean to... [He sighs, because he feels REALLY BAD ABOUT THIS OKAY.] I just need to make sure that she's okay.

[nepotism]

If you meant to, we'd be having more than a chat. [ across they go~ ] She'll be fine. Promise.

[uncease]

[The concept of trying to hurt Andie is horrifying, but all he can focus on is getting her to someone who can help.]

You're really calm. Has this kind of thing happened before?

[nepotism]

If I say 'plenty of times', does that make us look bad?

[uncease]

Until today, I might have said yes, but... That didn't take much at all. This stuff is really dangerous.

[nepotism]

Or maybe you're more of a tough guy than you thought you were. I was watching you. [ he directs charming to lay her on one of the beds, as Solace scuttles that way ] You knew what you were doing with a blade, no matter what you might think.

[uncease]

[He places Andie down as gently as possible, not giving Fred's comment much thought until he's done making sure that the girl is okay. He steps back, watching her nervously, hoping that whatever damage he's done can be undone. (HE'S NEVER KNOCKED SOMEONE OUT BEFORE AS FAR AS HE KNOWS, OKAY??? THIS IS REALLY STRESSFUL)]

I... Yeah, I guess. It just sort of came naturally.

So maybe you've had training, where you came from.

[uncease]

Anything's possible, right?

[nepotism]

It's written all over your form. You could have been a soldier of some kind.

[uncease]

Is there any way to find out for sure?

[He pauses]

There's another squire who came from the same place I did- Emma. [There's a few people who did that, but this is easier.] She says she knows who I am... was.... She says I was a Prince.

[nepotism]

[ well... that's something. he looks a little flabbergasted ] ... Are you telling me I'm squiring royalty?

[uncease]

I guess so... [That's a weird thought.] You're sure there's no way to recover my memories to find out for sure?

[nepotism]

You'd be the first in centuries, dude. Brighter minds than ours have been at it that long.

[uncease]

Emma and Gold say they come from the same place I did. The stories don't really... match up, though. I'm not really sure what to believe.

[nepotism]

Maybe people who think they have the right memories don't even. There's some food for thought.

[uncease]

So Emma could be mistaken. [He's not sure if he's relieved or disappointed by the thought.] In which case, I'm not royalty at all.
