The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Ugh, that dress. It's so pretty. And this seething jealousy is coming from the girl who doesn't actually care about clothes and would happily live in jeans and converse is she could. Not to say she's not looking good herself -- twinsies on that nat 20.

[ Dawn is right there with her in the jeans and converse. And really, pretty much anything that isn't that armor or a burlap sack. Burlap's supposed to be all coarse and itchy.

She mirrors the smile, if still faintly looking embarrassed. ] Does membership come with kneepads and a stylish helmet? I think I may need those.

You know we can probably get that. Maybe tee shirts with our names on the back! We could be like really kick ass roller derby chicks. Minus the skates, 'cause that would be just new levels of dangerous.

No, I am liking this plan. Tees and those little skirts with shorts underneath, though... [ Maybe reconsidering that. ] ...that could be mildly inappropriate. But we could learn to handle the skates! There's lots of long hallways there.

Nooo, I'd totally rock that skirt. [She looks down at her should be but somehow isn't inappropriately short dress and shrugs.] Plus don't the shorts make them appropriate? Plus it's a sport, you know. I mean, beach volleyball.

[Another shrug. They could so kick ass in roller derby gear.]

You've definitely got the legs for that skirt. [ When Violet looks down, so does Dawn. ] Being a sport does make it more socially acceptable. I mean, they play beach volleyball in sports bras and shorts, so.

Heh, thanks. [Bluuuuush.] But right? We could claim intramural sport and who really is going to protest?

[ Grin. She isn't hitting on her, but compliments go towards making friends, right? ] We're building togetherness. Team spirit. Unity.

[Violet will take all the compliments, okay. All of them.] Yes! You're really good at this, using logic for nefariousness.

[ Good, cause Dawn can never take them, but good at giving them. ] I wouldn't say it's nefarious. It's... mischievous, at the most. It's good to use our powers for good and not evil.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure evil is frowned upon in these here hallowed halls.

It would kinda go against the oath I just spoke, right? Well, that's settled. Evil out. Mischief, however, is still on the table.

Yeah, but can you imagine surviving a failed skydive? Probably all broken and mangled and... [ Shudders. ] A lifetime of ow.

[Vi adopts a mock shudder.] You know when a dude gets hit in the nuts and all the guys around him clutch their manly bits close? I think I just did that with all my squishy internal organs.

That's a lot of squishy there. [ Shakes her head. ] I don't think I'm gonna try the skydiving thing. Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

I would do it. ...but there isn't actually much I wouldn't do.

You are a braver soul than I am. I think I'd rather face some majorly evil baddie than skydive.

It's not really bravery? More like a complete lack of self-control and oooh, that looks exciting! [The whole not living past thirty in her world so she tries to live life to the fullest is probably a conversation for a day that isn't... the first day they've met.] Plus then I can say I've done it.

[ She laughs nervously, but nods. ] I can kinda understand that. Only so much time left in our lives and it's going by each second whether we use it well or not.

Yep, pretty much it. I don't like to miss things if I don't have to.

So what's probably the craziest thing you've done so far?

[What does it say that she has to really think about it? Probably a lot. She does a lot of crazy stuff.]

Um, well I used myself as bait and almost got smushed by a train? Or I punched a dragon, those are the big ones.
