It's been a long journey at sea, as the Knights, Zatanna, and her father followed the enchanted compass' guidance from Europe, across the Atlantic Ocean. Risa stands on the bow of the boat, a shawl wrapped around herself as she stares out into the gathering gloom, frowning.

"The Devil's Triangle," she announces, out of nowhere. "That's our destination, isn't it."

[With Francesca's help, Charming manages to get back up and back through the crowd (wis 15, escape artist 18).]

[Despite all of this, David still navigates the crowd pretty easily (escape artist: 17), keeping close to Zatanna as they head towards the the gate. Occasionally he glances back to be sure that the rest of the group is following and not lost in the shuffle.]

[Unfortunately, Hook's having a bit of trouble getting through as well (escape artist 9).] Swan!

[Sorry, Emma, you're everyone's default go-to girl for this.]

[ francesca apparently got through to her, because amara looks around wildly at the chaos, and then up at the sky as if she expects someone or something to appear at any moment, and then seems to steel herself to make a decision.

bitch don't need no staff.

she raises both her hands, her sleeves falling down around her elbows, and starts chanting in some ancient language that sounds fittingly ominous and intense... and then just as one of the towers capsizes close to them and begins to fall directly onto the mass of people below...

the crazy scene around them vanishes. and the entire group of them finds themselves transported to a peaceful, remote beach somewhere, safe and sound, although many of the people are still screaming or babbling before it sinks in where they are. ]

[BLESS YOU, AMARA. Because Gold got a two on his escape artist check and he was really struggling there for awhile. He looks around the beach and the brushes himself off, like that was not a HORRIBLE SITUATION THEY WERE ALL JUST IN.]

Well, I imagine that could have gone a great deal better, but no sense in harping on that. [He approaches Amara.] Thank you, dear. We appreciate your assistance.

[ Francesca gingerly detracts her hand from Charming's and may or may not lightly push him towards Amara in the process. Look, she really wants to talk to him anyway. ] Yes, thank you. You saved... everyone. [She really is astonished, too. She's actually never seen anything like that before.]

[ to be honest, she doesn't look too thrilled about it. in fact, she looks ready to almost cry, but bravely keeping it at bay. her eyes seek out charming and she gets a nat 20 to notice francesca letting go of his hand filing that away just in case. ]

My people... they'll be furious. [ and it's clear just what she knows that means for her, but she shakes it off to ask ] Are you alright?

[Charming still has no clue what is going on. In fact, the chaos from back there has made him understand less (wis 9). So Amara's question brings on a confused look.]

Huh? Me? Yeah, I'm fine. [And then he's going to start looking around for his daughter (but boy does no one else really know about that).] Has anyone seen Emma?

[And he's absently wanders off to go look for her.]

[ ♬ yeahhhhh amara sure don't know that.......... ]

[ let's make this more incestuous shall we.

emma's off to the side of the beach, because she was heading back in hook's direction to help him when the group got transported. she stops short when she reaches him, though, and looks alarmed by the sudden scenery shift. she pivots on her heel, staring at the blue skies and trying to sort out where the hell they are.

that's some magic she'll never get used to.

she hears charming, and reaches a hand up. ]

[ she shouts it over the crowd, then pats hook on the arm to encourage him to follow her. she keeps her hand on his arm to guide him through the crowd as she, once again, easily navigates it (escape artist 18). when she gets to charming, she drops hook's arms and begins to look her father over, relief evident. ]

I'm okay. Are you - ? [ she raises her hands to touch his arms just above his elbows, sizing him up for damages, then glances around at the rest of the group. ] Where are we?

[unhand]

[With her help, he manages much better (escape artist 14) even if he keeps smacking into people. Once they're free, he brushes himself off and tries to look nonchalant about the whole not being able to make it through a crowd without help thing.]

Don't think I can fit this many people on the ship...

[ Oh yeah, Hook's ship >.> Instead of addressing that, Francesca's gonna start searching for Zatanna and her parents now (spot check 24, escape artist check 27). ]

[David is with the Zataras, Sindella still over his shoulder as he glances around looking really confused. Not that he's not grateful to not be a pancake at this point in time, but this trip has already had too much magic for his delicate magically averse constitution.

He just wants to go home, man.

He sees Francesca approaching and nods.]

Everybody okay?

[ zatanna pushes through behind david, shaking her head as she looks at her mother's body ] Maybe... maybe we can resurrect her. You have a cleric, don't you?

[ risa tentatively steps out ] If... if the jewel really was draining her life force so strongly, Zatanna, I don't think she'd ever be strong enough for us to bring back.

[ zatara puts a hand on his daughter's shoulder ] She gave her life that we all might survive. She could not ask for a nobler death. It was her choice, Zatanna.

[Charming just nods to Emma, still a bit shaken up by the whole thing but all in one piece, thankfully.]

I'm fine. Really. [He looks around the beach, then shakes his head.] Your guess is as good as mine. But we're safe and we're together, so that's a start.

[socialgraces]

[ She nods in David's direction, turning to point the way back to the rest of the party. ] We should gather everyone together so we can figure out a way home. [ She looks down instead of in Zatanna's direction. ] The castle would be a better location to make those decisions.

South America, I think is what you call it now. [ after that odd statement, amara shoulders her way through to behind charming, and then very tentatively reaches out to brush his sleeve ] My-- my staff. May I?

[undealt]

[Gold's basically following Amara like a lost puppy... Or possibly a lost bodyguard. He is very invested in keeping her content.] I think she's more than proven herself trustworthy.

[He gestures to Emma, urging her to follow and leave Charming with his new girlfriend. Hook can come to... He guesses.] And I believe I owe you an explanation, Ms. Swan.

[uncease]

[He turns at the touch, still a little jumpy. Glancing down at the staff, he's not completely certain that he wants to hand it over. But Gold was pretty certain to trust her before... and definitely does now.]

Uh... yeah, sure. Do you think you can get us all out of here?

[uncurse]

South America's a whole continent.

[ someone needed to point it out, ok. emma is happy to gruffly do so. she turns her attention to gold after charming has his weird staff-handover moment with amara. ]

If you've got some light to shed on what the hell just happened, by all means. Shed it.

Given what we've just seen, I'd rather not hurt her feelings. [He points to Amara. So out of earshot at least here, Emma. Grant him this. He starts moving off, figuring she can follow or she can remain unenlightened while she bodyguards her father's dick.]
