The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I'm already familiar with that sort of thing. [Whatever girl, she's been doing this shit for ages.] I'd think that the break from everday duties would be sort of relaxing though.

Yeah? Pre-Veil? [She's not sure if she should be jealous. She doesn't remember a thing but sometimes she isn't sure if she would want to.]

So what did you do before all this?

[She is still getting used to the Veil stuff so her eyebrows knit together a moment before her head bobs in a nod.] Yeah. I was on summer vacation before... this. [She waves a hand to indictate the "this" she means is the knights and the like.] My freshman year was supposed to start in the fall.

[Lissa assumes that since she doesn't look 13 or 14 that Faye will understand she means college.]

Summer vacation were you attended parties like this. [Her expression is flat.]

Were your parents loaded or something?

My parents are dead. [Her expression, for a moment, is tremendously sad. But then she smiles so who knows if the sadness is an act just to make Faye feel bad. Look, she isn't as sweet as she looks, sugar.

Although it also answers the question, because yes, basically, they were.]

[The shift of expression has an interesting reaction from Faye, considering the words that were spoken.

She laughs.

Not because of the fact that the girl's parents are dead, but that horribly sad look, paired with that smile. Something about it strikes her as amusing.]

Sorry. Just- You're not like most people I've talked to.

[You know what, Lissa is going to take that as a compliment actually and her smile widens to reflect such.]

Thanks. I'm Lissa. Dragomir. [She holds out her hand for a friendly shake.]

[Faye looks at the hand for a moment before figuring 'what the hell' and reaching out to shake it.]

[Lissa arches an eyebrow for half a second. It's a handshake, what's the big deal.]

Nice to meet you. Have you been here long?

A few months. It all starts to blend together with the boredom.

So you must know Rose and Dimitri. [Something in her tone suggests give me all the details right now please. Spying on her best friend? You bet.]

[Her expression shifts immediately at the mention of Rose. Never before has a person looked more disgusted than Faye does right now.]

What about her? [Because who the fuck is Dimitri? Nope focused on Rose.]

[Lissa smiles because wow that was predictable, trust Rose to incite that reaction. But there is a little something in her deep green eyes.

Don't fuck with Rose.]

Oh, so you have met. She's my best friend.

I'm sorry. [Not like she's confused. Or that she didn't hear you. But more that she's apologetic that the best friend you could find is Rose.]

[She smiles again, because what did Rose even do to make this girl hate her? Such a familiar reaction though.]

She has that effect.

For what it's worth, Lissa's smile doesn't widen at least, though it turns sympathetic.]

You mean as my mentor knight? Sir O'Keefe. [She doesn't know there are two... whatever.]

[That's okay. Faye doesn't know there's even one.]

Never heard of him. Is he hot?

I'm pretty sure it's a woman? [She is really pretty sure, because that nice lady at the ceremony... but who knows. WHO KNOWS.]

Rose. [Duh, where have you been.] And it will be nice, being able to help.
