The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Are you entirely new to London?

I am, unfortunately. I traveled a lot, but for some reason London was never a stop.

My husband works in the city, so I've had plenty of chances to scout around for good shops. I could take you sometime.

I would love that. I've been meaning to get to know the city more.

I can't say I know him, but... there are so many Knights here, and I'm still somewhat new to the castle.

How long have you been staying here?

A couple of months, ever since my husband took a job in London.

[allmydreams]

About the same as me. I was recruited out of New York.

[silvermaid]

New York! That's where we moved from. I've spent many, many years living there.

[allmydreams]

[Her face brightens even further. Anastacia you are becoming her second favorite person - her first being Violet.]

I love that city. I miss it every day.

What neighborhood?

Queens, mostly, but I lived all over. I moved around a lot.

I lived in Manhattan, the last time I lived there.

[allmydreams]

I love Manhattan, but it was a little too busy for me.

It certainly was a lot to keep up with. But there was always something happening.

That's true. Boring weekends were a thing of the past.

My flatmate never allowed for a dull moment, anyway.

I've never really had a roommate. I've mostly lived alone.

What kind of not-dull moments?

He was a photographer, who was into... experimental work. So sometimes he'd rearrange our entire apartment into a living work of art.
