The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[That's kind of adorable, except annoying at the same time, and she can only handle very few emotions at all time so she settles on annoyed as default.]

Just a thought, but getting drunk at a party she is at? Probably not helping your case any.

[She's right and he knows it, but it's not like he really has a plan for how to handle this. He never really intended to care for Andie like he does, and the circumstances of their fight put him in a bit of a tight spot.]

She sighs, shifting more fully on to the stool like let's do this shit.]

Okay, why is she pissed at you?

[Thoster glances at her from the side, not turning to face her but eventually turning his head.]

She doesn't think she can trust me. Caught me in a lie- before you ask, I can't tell you either. Or her. It's nothing to do with matters of the heart, but she won't see reason.

Have you tried apologizing?

[Her lack of faith in men is astounding, but since her memories revolve around Cassel, she has good reason.]

[He grimaces against the sting of whatever new the bartender brought him.]

Letter? Voice mail, email, text, muffin basket, artfully arranged chocolate dipped fruit? You could spell it out in twinkle lights. Or cupcakes.

[After letter, Thoster's eyes glazed over. He's still not quite used to this modern world, okay. He sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose.]

She says she doesn't want to talk to me. After awhile, I thought respecting that was better. Why? What would you suggest?

Psh, no one actually means that. [She delicately reeeeeeaches over to take his drink.] I'd suggest you keep trying. And tell her you're going to keep trying. Then prove it.

[He lets the glass go without a fight. And doesn't even ask for a new one to replace it! Progress!]

You really think? And here I thought 'hard to get' was just something made up by men like myself who needed an excuse to keep asking a pretty girl for a dance.

[She rolls her eyes and just takes a sip of his drink. ...what the fuck did he order.] That's just exactly how I meant it. [Not.]

Write her a letter. Apologize for lying, and do not defend yourself, just apologize. Then ask her, very simply, if she would still like to be in a relationship with you, because you definitely would and you are hoping she does too, but you understand that you broke her trust and that you have to earn it back.

And then ask her how.

[How is she the voice of reason in this relationship? It's not like her track record is stellar, but all that late night psychology reading has to pay off sometime. (Knowledge: Behavioral Sciences 16)] You're apologizing and giving her the option to answer. It's harder to run away from that.

[He nods, following along as best he can. He's... pretty drunk.]

I've never written a letter like that. No telling if I'd muck it up further. [And then another slow glance back to the blonde.] Unless... you'd help me, lass? Y'seem to know so much about it, after all.

What do I get out of it? [Her altruism only goes so far.]
