The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

She jumps back as though Rose had lunged for her even though she...sure didn't. Embarrassment colors her cheeks but he tries to play it off as more anger than humiliation and fear.]

[Rose just glowered at Faye, like it was her fault that she was being reprimanded by her own damn boyfriend when she was simply trying to mind her own business.]

Actually it was a new one and Faye was about to be reminded why pissing me off was not in her best interests. [She looked to Dimitri and tried a petulant;] What? She started it. [In her defence.]

[Faye was almost swayed by that diplomatic gesture, Dimitri... and then Rose opened her mouth.]

[Oh, poor choice of words Faye. Because Dimitri is usually a very patient man, and it takes a lot to incite his temper. Unfortunately, calling Rose a cunt is apparently a good way to do it. (Will save 8)

He also completely knows about incidents involving fire, nose breaking and kissing, and his wisdom check of 18 helps him conclude who exactly she is, even if Rose hadn't informed him.]

Considering you've tried to set my girlfriend on fire in the past, I would say attempting to converse with her qualifies as antagonizing unless it begins with an apology. Calling her that name in my presence also isn't doing you any favors.

[Rose's whole body tense's with rage, the drink in her hand actually sloshing over the rim of the glass as on instinct she's about to dump it's contents on the source of her anger.

It's Dimitri's voice however that stops her (and a Will Save of 14), the controlled anger and bite to his words almost enough to make her cower and they weren't even aimed at her.]

You heard him. [Intimidate 17; which after Dimitri's grr just seemed kind of like a joke really.]

Wow. Double teaming the poor girl? [Oh hey that hilariously mock disapproving voice and the little tut tut is everyone's favorite sociopath coming up behind Dimitri and Rose to stand next to Faye. She is lazily holding a drink in her bare hands, which she holds out for Faye to take, so those bare hands will be free. Sit down, sweetie, let the big kids talk.]

As if they're not both embarrassing themselves. Can you even blame her for reacting overzealously when it's two against one? Especially against you, Dimitri. [Is that a compliment? An insult? Is she judging the adult in the room for snapping at a teenager prone to temper trantrums? It is a mystery. But her Diplomacy 29 blows it out of the water -- they're both fuck ups and jfc why is she the voice of reason here? RETHINK YOUR LIFE CHOICES PEOPLE.

[Faye felt backed into a corner, and pretty terrified (will save 8). She was probably a split second away from making a hasty retreat when she hears a familiar voice pipe up behind her. She stiffens, both relieved and embarrassed that Lila felt like she had to come over here to save her ass.

But there is no way in hell she is going to argue with it now. In fact, she takes a step back and just lets the tiny blonde handle it for now. That shitty will save will leave her a bit shaken up for now.]

[And if Rose wasn’t angry enough already, little miss bad touch had to come along and stick her nose where it wasn’t wanted. Even a Will Save of 21 can’t stop her from feeling the force of her threat, which is pretty much the only reason why Rose wasn’t turning her full glass on the blonde. Well that and the memory of her creepy compulsion touch. She swore if it weren’t for the fact that hitting her in the face meant touching her she would have resorted to that by now.

Still, Rose tries to recover, straightening and trying to act as though she could have cared less about Lila’s threat. (Bluff Check 23)]

Oh fuck off Lila. You don’t know what you’re talking about and nobody asked your opinion.

[He looks at Lila calmly, though his eyes are firm.]

[Lila matches his look, which seems to reiterate her "keep your bitch on a leash" comment, but she makes no move to do anything silly like, say, defenestrate Rose.

After a moment she looks at Faye, because she hasn't even reacted to Rose since the amount of fucks she gives over Dimitri's girlfriend is exactly none. It's up to the firestarter what happens now. At least she won't be scurrying away like a scared kitten.]

[Faye musters up a little more of her own spine (will 15) but her looks and her tone just don't have the same bite.]

Whatever. [She directs at Rose, trying to come off flippant but still not totally sure of herself.] Good luck with your alcohol poisoning.

[And with a pathetic Intimidate check of 12, she'll just turn and walk away before she embarrasses herself any further. Fuck everything.]

[Rose is at least a little smug to see Faye scurry off with her tail between her legs and continues to shoot daggers in her direction until the pair are out of sight before she refocuses on the bartender that had been trying to serve her before.]

I take back what I said before. Just give me the strongest thing you have.
