The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

No it was hiding. [A beat.] I outright asked. She outright refused to explain.

Do you think there's something she's afraid to let you know?

How should I know when she won't tell me? [Actually...] She's not scared she's - [Brow furrowing.] I don't know. I don't know how to describe the feeling but it wasn't scared.

[layonhands]

Then I hope she comes around. That has to be... frustrating.

If she doesn't I'll just go around her. [The bond can be useful sometimes.] But yeah. That's the nice way of putting it.

[And yet, she's quietly pleased that somebody gets it even if they really don't because how do you even begin to explain a Spirit Bond.]

You don't need someone else to talk to her, do you?

Oh trust me, that's the plan. [A somewhat devious plan maybe because Rose doesn't expect Lissa to tell anyone. She just needs her to think the answers!]

Someone you trust, I take it?

Uh... Sure. [A beat.] It's complicated... If I go with somebody I trust then she might not open up.

[layonhands]

I don't think I follow.

[littledhampir]

[Welp.] If I explain can you promise to hear me out before you call for the men in white jackets?

I promise I've probably heard worse.

[littledhampir]

[Here goes nothing, Rose downing half her drink before trying to explain.]

I can hear her thoughts. Just hers, not everyone else but I know what she's thinking and feeling. If she's talking to somebody who knows me she might try and block me out but if it's some random person she might think what I need to know.

You mean you have a psychic bond? [ she actually doesn't... sound surprised at all ]

Has everybody heard of one of these but me?! [A beat.] I don't suppose you can tell me how it works can you?

[layonhands]

[ she shakes her head sadly ] I just know they exist among psions. You'd probably be better to take the question to Sir Ellison.

[littledhampir]

[It takes her a moment to register who that is.] Oh Tia... Well at least I won't have to spend forever finding somebody I don't know. [A beat.] Thanks. I'll try that then.
