This isn't exactly a squiring after party. Lila's never been to a knighting (and the odds are not in her favor) but she doubts this party is much like it either. The invitation comes in the form of a mass text message sent the day before -- she doesn't care who gets it, its not as if Wynn is going to come to her party. A date, a time, a location, and the rules. She doesn't give a reason.

The rules are simple: dress up classy, don't bring a gift, and wear a mask. It's a masquerade, after all, a mask is a prerequisite. Lila is even so kind as to provide them, a porcelain bowl perched on a chair by the door holds an array; running the gamut from Phantom of the Opera white to classic Venetian blue and gold to Dia de los Muertos red and black. Anyone without a mask is subject to Lila's wrath.

The room is entirely lit by tea lights floating in small glass bowls, leaving long shadows across the walls, and strings of red fairy lights draped across doorways and windows. Music is playing somewhere, loud and dark, forcing you to press up against the person you're talking to. A table shoved against the wall is covered with bottles of fancy champagne, wine, expensive vodka and, the odd man out, pink lemonade. She and Faye might have gone a tad overboard with the alcohol. Blue plastic cups sit in a tottering pile off to the side, a jumble of colorful paper umbrellas dotting the free space on the desk. Another table holds a towering monstrosity of nibbles -- chocolates and tiny cream puffs, miniature Madeline cookies and delicate eclairs. Nothing to fill up on if you're worried about drinking on an empty stomach. Not her problem, she is obviously catering to the younger crowd here. Namely herself.

Lila is around, face half hidden by a simple lacy black mask. Her one blue eye and one green eye would be a dead giveaway if her scar didn't already make it perfectly clear who is behind the mask. She's not playing hostess, she had enough of that back home being Daddy's little darling. This is the first birthday party she has had in almost four years, but even determined to make the most of her experience, she remains at the fringes, drink in hand. The combination of pink lemonade and vodka makes her nostalgic.

Don't worry though, she has her gloves on.

I told you that I don't remember my name. [bluff 12; although he's not exactly lying ...... just not being completely honest, either.]

[ (sense motive 18) she looks at him for a few moments longer before turning her attention back to the chocolates, poking at another cherry one. she can't force him.

well, she can, but. ] Okay.

[after a long pause and further consideration, he decides to come clean(er) — ] But ... I do have a name. Not my real name, but a name I came through the veil remembering.

Yeah? [ she doesn't ask him to tell her again, because it may be something seemingly small, but there is only so much rejection -- perceived or otherwise -- she can take at one time. so she says yeah, a question that isn't a question so if he leaves it at that nothing is left unanswered, technically. ]

[watchmaker]

[bittersweeter]

[ gently setting the chocolate aside, she pulls her knees up under her, shifting to face him. ] Hi Sylar.

[watchmaker]

Hello, Lila. [fuck it yo, he's going in for a kiss.]

[bittersweeter]

[ perfect present. now with added bonus of kissing, which lila returns enthusiastically. perfect birthday, really. ]

[watchmaker]

[yes, time for a few minutes of enthusiastic kissing ... but then he pulls away. stupid will save.] We should save something for the hotel room.

[bittersweeter]

[ he gets the full force of her pout for that. luckily they're close though so she doesn't actually protest like no sir. ] Fine. [ huff. ] I like it. Your name, suits you.

[watchmaker]

[omg gurl calm down u r like five seconds away!!!] You think? It's not even really a name, though.

[bittersweeter]

[ she is the most impatient fucker, okay. and even more so when she's not entirely sober. ] What is it then?

[watchmaker]

I don't know. [he just kind of shrugs. it's a hard knock life, son.]

[ ugh comforting what. she doesn't have an app for that. ] Lillian. It's what Lila is short for. Now you know my name, too.

[watchmaker]

Really? You don't seem like much of a Lillian.

[bittersweeter]

Probably why I don't ever tell anyone.

[watchmaker]

It's not a bad name ... it's just not you.

No, it's bad. [ don't even front, she knows the truth. ] I hate it.

[watchmaker]

Fine, fine. I promise I'll never call you Lillian. [and he seals it with a kiss, just because she's so precious.]

[bittersweeter]

[ it doesn't sound so awful when he says it. gdi. but she smiles into the kiss because ugh yes, just what she wanted. all the kisses, why can't she have them all the time. ] Thanks for coming.

[watchmaker]

I wouldn't miss it. Even if it meant going partway across the world for you.

[bittersweeter]

Don't worry, I'll make it worth it. [ and ukw, they're fucking there. as much as she loathes the idea of not being all up in his grill right next to him, she scoots forward to pass the driver her credit card. ] Can you grab my chocolate?

[watchmaker]
