party! } welcome to the new age

Radioactive - Imagine Dragons
WHO || Everyone ever aka whomever is in the castle
WHAT || Lila is throwing a party
WHERE || Large parlor room
WHEN || Tuesday, July 23, 2013; 9pm onwards
HOW || Actionspam, threadjack away.
This isn't exactly a squiring after party. Lila's never been to a knighting (and the odds are not in her favor) but she doubts this party is much like it either. The invitation comes in the form of a mass text message sent the day before -- she doesn't care who gets it, its not as if Wynn is going to come to her party. A date, a time, a location, and the rules. She doesn't give a reason.
The rules are simple: dress up classy, don't bring a gift, and wear a mask. It's a masquerade, after all, a mask is a prerequisite. Lila is even so kind as to provide them, a porcelain bowl perched on a chair by the door holds an array; running the gamut from Phantom of the Opera white to classic Venetian blue and gold to Dia de los Muertos red and black. Anyone without a mask is subject to Lila's wrath.
The room is entirely lit by tea lights floating in small glass bowls, leaving long shadows across the walls, and strings of red fairy lights draped across doorways and windows. Music is playing somewhere, loud and dark, forcing you to press up against the person you're talking to. A table shoved against the wall is covered with bottles of fancy champagne, wine, expensive vodka and, the odd man out, pink lemonade. She and Faye might have gone a tad overboard with the alcohol. Blue plastic cups sit in a tottering pile off to the side, a jumble of colorful paper umbrellas dotting the free space on the desk. Another table holds a towering monstrosity of nibbles -- chocolates and tiny cream puffs, miniature Madeline cookies and delicate eclairs. Nothing to fill up on if you're worried about drinking on an empty stomach. Not her problem, she is obviously catering to the younger crowd here. Namely herself.
Lila is around, face half hidden by a simple lacy black mask. Her one blue eye and one green eye would be a dead giveaway if her scar didn't already make it perfectly clear who is behind the mask. She's not playing hostess, she had enough of that back home being Daddy's little darling. This is the first birthday party she has had in almost four years, but even determined to make the most of her experience, she remains at the fringes, drink in hand. The combination of pink lemonade and vodka makes her nostalgic.
Don't worry though, she has her gloves on.
For now.

for lila, but also open~
He does take one of the masks, as he's happy to play by her rules on her own party.
He has a barely touched glass of red wine in his hand when he finds the birthday girl.]
Happy birthday, Lilchka.
[Oh look, he has a russian nickname for you, Lila. <3]

Thanks, Dimitri. I felt like a party, my birthday seemed like a good enough excuse.

You're very welcome. [He nods.] I can't think of many better ones, though I'm sure you could have come up with something.

She makes her way into the room, scanning the floor as she always does before wandering towards the drink table to fix herself something boozy. She's getting out of the castle soon for a mission - might as well make poor life choices while she can.]
no subject
She looks over at the woman and squints, before shoving her mask up into her hair.] So who are you?
[Oh manners. What are those?]
no subject
Felicia LaRourke.
[and she'll extend her hand ever so delicately in the process.]
no subject
The slight imperiousness in monied English people makes her bristle though as she returns the handshake briefly.]
Lila Zacharov. It's my party.

She has a drink in her hand, but she hasn't touched it since she is waiting to see if Rose shows up, instead she stands nibbling on a cookie before she tosses herself into the breach and meets more new people.]

[He smiles as he sees her walking nearby, giving her a friendly wave of his hand.]

Hello Dimitri. I wouldn't think you were one for parties.
no subject
[His tone is joking even if it's...probably true. He just doesn't remember. Oops.]
Lila is an acquaintance of mine. A friend, perhaps. It would have been rude not to wish her a happy birthday.

She wouldn't admit it, but Lila's idea wasn't half bad.
Even if she isn't the hostess or the cause for celebration, Faye feels partially responsible for making sure that things go off without a hitch. Yes, Faye and the word 'responsible' were just used in the same sentence. No, there wasn't any sarcasm involved. Shocking... I know.]

And in case anyone thought they were friends for a hot second...] Hey loser.

So, you didn't tell me if you texted him about tonight.

Maybe he already knew about it.

You can tell by how he's got his pinky out as he eats a cream puff.]

You look fancy. [IDK maybe she didn't think it was possible.]

It's a sexy yet practical look!

ota;
he does spend lots of the party pacing on his phone, though, having an annoyed sounding conversation. ]
no subject
But now that he is here, well, she is physically incapable of leaving him alone so. Besides, who is annoying him? That is her job and she takes it really seriously.]
Who are you talking to?
