This isn't exactly a squiring after party. Lila's never been to a knighting (and the odds are not in her favor) but she doubts this party is much like it either. The invitation comes in the form of a mass text message sent the day before -- she doesn't care who gets it, its not as if Wynn is going to come to her party. A date, a time, a location, and the rules. She doesn't give a reason.

The rules are simple: dress up classy, don't bring a gift, and wear a mask. It's a masquerade, after all, a mask is a prerequisite. Lila is even so kind as to provide them, a porcelain bowl perched on a chair by the door holds an array; running the gamut from Phantom of the Opera white to classic Venetian blue and gold to Dia de los Muertos red and black. Anyone without a mask is subject to Lila's wrath.

The room is entirely lit by tea lights floating in small glass bowls, leaving long shadows across the walls, and strings of red fairy lights draped across doorways and windows. Music is playing somewhere, loud and dark, forcing you to press up against the person you're talking to. A table shoved against the wall is covered with bottles of fancy champagne, wine, expensive vodka and, the odd man out, pink lemonade. She and Faye might have gone a tad overboard with the alcohol. Blue plastic cups sit in a tottering pile off to the side, a jumble of colorful paper umbrellas dotting the free space on the desk. Another table holds a towering monstrosity of nibbles -- chocolates and tiny cream puffs, miniature Madeline cookies and delicate eclairs. Nothing to fill up on if you're worried about drinking on an empty stomach. Not her problem, she is obviously catering to the younger crowd here. Namely herself.

Lila is around, face half hidden by a simple lacy black mask. Her one blue eye and one green eye would be a dead giveaway if her scar didn't already make it perfectly clear who is behind the mask. She's not playing hostess, she had enough of that back home being Daddy's little darling. This is the first birthday party she has had in almost four years, but even determined to make the most of her experience, she remains at the fringes, drink in hand. The combination of pink lemonade and vodka makes her nostalgic.

Don't worry though, she has her gloves on.

[Lila turns slightly to look at Faye and raises her eyebrows. As if asking why the actual fuck would she tell Faye that? Honestly. But then she answers anyway, because who else is she going to talk to about him? No one.]

I don't know. I didn't ask.

You didn't-! [gurl this is why you have friends like Faye. She holds out one hand.]

Give me your phone.

[Lila hands it over with a laugh.]

Good luck figuring out who he is.

[Since Lila is that girl who doesn't title her contacts with people's names but (un)friendly nicknames. Only Dimitri and Faye are obvious as "Russian" and "Bitch".]

[A quick scroll through the contacts and Faye sees what Lila means. Well... time for plan B. She makes quick work to set up a mass text to try to catch the attention of her mysterious hot friend.

Once done, she looks up and puts on a pleased grin.]

Guess we'll see if he answers.

[Yeah you can't have your phone back yet.]

[...lucky they have unlimited texting, okay. Dad would supreme bitchface at her for going over her limit.]

He will. [She takes a nonchalant sip of her drink.] I don't know what you're gonna learn about him though. Especially if you're pretending to be me.

[reallywicked]

[She just shrugs.] I was mostly just trying to see if he's coming. I can learn about him later. You're welcome by the way.

[She just rolls her eyes because gurl you better recognize-

Oh hey look the phone is buzzing. She glances down, then back to Lila.]

Captain? Really? [This is a judgy face. But she assumes its the guy (wis 17).]

[bittersweeter]

[Wow Faye, she can get him in her pants without you playing wingman, tyvm.]

What, we met at a bar. Captain Morgan?

[But can you get him to London if you don't talk to him in a month???? HUH???

She just snorts at the explanation.]

So what's his name anyway? [Casually texting him while she talks to you, w/e]

[The summoning powers of her sociopathy knows no bounds basically.]

Harry Windsor. [Bluff 32. She is secretly dating Prince Harry.]

[And then this happened...

She believes her (sense motive 11) and also knows who that is (int check 16) so now things just got even more interesting.]

Why do you think it's a secret? [Please.] All that humanitarian crap isn't exclusive to babies with AIDS.

[Another glance down at the phone.]

He's stuck in Switzerland. Must be some sort of diplomatic thing. You have to tell me everything.

[bittersweeter]

Or he really likes chocolate. Oh! Tell him to get me some chocolate, it's duty free, he can't even complain about the tax.

[reallywicked]

[She sends a quick text but she gives her a flat look.]

No really. You met him in a bar and...?

[bittersweeter]

And we chatted and he's really hot so I gave him my number. [She shrugs, like there isn't anything to tell.] We've been texting since then.

[reallywicked]

Ugh. I can't believe you run into a prince at a bar. [Someone is jealous...]

[bittersweeter]

[She smirks and even though she wants to snatch her phone back because she has sharing issues, she restrains herself.]

I got game. [A beat.] You know there's more than one prince in Europe...

[Adventure!]

[reallywicked]

[She perks up at that.]

That's true. And I'm sure Harry has a few hot princely friends he could bring around sometime.

[Later on, she is going to be SO disappointed...]

[bittersweeter]

Well he is the party prince.

[Sorry Faye this is what happens when you're best (oh my god we are not even) friends with a really stellar liar.

But Harry will be free for the taking?]

[reallywicked]

[Satisfied, she hands over Lila's phone, already bored and grumpy that she hasn't met a prince.]

He said he's waiting for the next flight out. Could be a few hours.

[bittersweeter]

[And he could he lying. She tucks the phone away.]

Whatever shall we do with our time...

[She checks her cup which- whoops is now empty.]
