Considering there have been three more Dragon's Claws since then? No, that doesn't seem long ago at all.

[Tragic though. She starts keeping track of them in her mind: Jack, Byron, Richard, Vaughan.] Who came before him?

[ he takes another few steps down and nods at a portrait of another figure, a handsome man who looks fully human. ] Sir Lawrence Tamberlin, Dragon's Claw for 16 years.

They're all so young. [Which does make sense, considering, but Lissa still says it.]

Well, when the portraits were painted.

I suppose so. [She steps up to another portrait and peers at it curiously.] If I wasn't sure I've had one done of me, I would consider portrait making kind of antiquated.

I don't know if you've noticed, but antiquated is kind of Wynn's whole thing.

[That draws out a laugh, though she gives his retro ensemble a bit of a once over as she turns, smoothing her hair back over her shoulders.] You might have a point there.

[ HEY 8| ] What's that supposed to mean?

[lastdragomir]

Only that Wynn isn't the only one who seems to have... kept his olden ways. [A beat before she continues lest he think she means him specifically since Lissa just assumes he's just a smart, adorable hipster with a penchent for thrift shopping and a fear of the hair dresser (which is rich coming from a girl with hair to her waist).] Armor isn't very fashion forward.

A lot of the Old Worlders get some kind of comfort out of it. It's... familiar to 'em.

That makes sense. [Heck, she finds comfort in Rose. Which is super uncomfortable... so.]

I don't think Wynn's excluded from that, either.

No. [She nods slowly in agreement.] But isn't there something to be said for pushing out of your comfort zone? If you cocoon yourself in the familiar for so long you'll stagnate, never changing, never growing. Shouldn't people be compelled to take risks and chances?

You do realize we go out and fight monsters and stuff, right? That's not daring enough for you?

Not even close. [But she's laughing so obviously she doesn't mean it and accepts his point.] I meant more... socially, but I see what you mean.

I guess we can only ask people to be so daring. Some arenas, they're on their own.

What about you, what arena are you on your own? [She looks at him a moment longer, curiosity and something else, interest, in her green eyes, before moving to look at another portrait.]

On my own's kinda my usual state, actually.

Why? [Not necessarily a fair question, but it's not like he has to answer so.]

[ he shoves his hands deep in his pockets ]




I've got my reasons.

[She watches him over her shoulder for a while like she wants to say something but there is nothing to say.] I interrupted our history lesson. Who is this? [She points at the picture she's in front of.]

[necessaryevil]

[ something seems to have shifted a bit in his demeanor and he shrugs, a part of him appearing to have shut down ] I don't know the whole string of 'em. Just the ones from this century, basically.

Suppose I could just read the labels, huh?

[ he nods way down the line to a certain portrait. ] Might not need to, for a few.

Is that... Are you saying that Benjamin Franklin was a knight?
