[The Dragon's Hoard's wing is located in the farthest corner of the first floor of the castle from where the squire bedrooms are, rather than immediately by the laboratory. Following the equipment briefing, Lis'sa had asked James to come to her office there on Wednesday morning so that they might get a chance to finally sit and talk about his squiring period. Hopefully, he has no problems locating the place.]

[He comes in at that, taking in the mess, the papers, books. It both bothers him to some extent (he was very organized most of the time), and also feels like home (something about big messes made him comfortable, it felt like work was getting done). The large skull catches his eye, but he doesn't focus on it immediately (he wants to, to try and figure it out, to see what it was), to instead pick up the papers off the chair and plop them onto a nearby pile carefully (so there wasn't a lot of mess) the opposite way so as to avoid mixing them up (to make her life easier). Before sitting down, smoothing out his shirt once more as he did so.]

It seems you are, rather busy from what I can see here. [He's fishing for information yes.]

[lissatrinall]

I just don't like to not be working. [She says it simply, as if it's rather obvious] And there's always plenty to do to stay occupied, with the scope of this organization.

[spymaster]

[That gets a nod, actually it gets a lot of nods from him really and he shifts to cross one leg over the other as he talks.] That I can fully understand. Nothing to do, well that is really never good, now is it?

[lissatrinall]

What's that they say? About idle hands?

[spymaster]

Idle hands breed idle minds or some such thing. Which is true, I will say, a mind is too sharp a tool to let, sit idle and one tends to think best when one is busy with their hands.

[lissatrinall]

Precisely. So with that in mind, I see no reason you or I should waste any time. [She folds her hands in front of her] What would you like to know, first?

[spymaster]

[That gets an interested tilt of his head at that, and he narrows his eyes some as he thinks.] Why me for you?

[lissatrinall]

[Coolly:] We generally don't choose our own squires if that's what you mean. Wynn makes the call, unless we request otherwise.

[spymaster]

[he was just curious, no harm in that.] So which was it then? If you do not mind my asking of course.

[lissatrinall]

It was his decision. It wasn't as if I knew anything about you. [There's something in her tone that seems imply a mysterious "OR DID I??"]

[spymaster]

You do not seem the type to allow a blind placement, and the looks you gave me during the ceremony, tend to speak otherwise. [Which he calls her on, in this case it's easier to pursue a lead like that than to not have anything to talk about at all.]

[lissatrinall]

[She doesn't seem to shy away from being called out on the subject] I'll admit that the arrival of those from worlds that seem to be something... other than Faerun has piqued my curiosity.

[spymaster]

[And it's enough to cause him to lean forward slightly. That makes perfect sense, really.] So then am I as much your squire as your research experiment then?

[No hint of accusation, no blame, just curiosity. He really can't blame her if that's the case, he'd probably do the same if he were her.]

[lissatrinall]

[Lis'sa doesn't flinch at all at his wording, fixing him with the same flat look]

Is that a problem?

[spymaster]

[Which in turn gets a head tilt at her. What, you think it's a problem Lis'sa, really?]

If it were a problem I would not be sitting here still. [And a head tilt.] And I will say, you interest me as well, you're not exactly human now are you? [Fair is fair right?]

[lissatrinall]

Not exactly, no. [She seems highly entertained by his responses]

The snake blood accounts for most of it.

[spymaster]

[It's better then being bored right?]

What accounts for the rest of it then?

[lissatrinall]

Elven. It's not a very common mix.

[spymaster]

No, I can imagine why as well. [He takes a moment to uncross his leg and stretch it out before him before continuing.] And you are amused by myself with my responses, my questions, may I ask why?

[lissatrinall]

Because most people don't dare ask.

[spymaster]

Dare ask? You are not so frightening to warrant such wording unless you have frightened off others by your mere words. Have you? [And yes he's looking rather amused at this idea.]

[lissatrinall]

Words are hardly the only way to be intimidating.

[spymaster]

And if someone is intimidated by a lady with a sharp tongue and intelligence than that, is entirely their own problem. [Now if he could remember someone else like her this would be even more interesting but amnesia sucks eggs so he's just smiling at that.]

[lissatrinall]

Personally, I look at it as an advantage for me. [She looks him over carefully for a moment] So what kind of advantages do you have?

[spymaster]

And that is hardly much of a surprise to me. [He tilts his head at that question though, looking much more amused by things then he probably should.] What do you think my advantages are? Surely you must have some idea, as well informed about things as you are.
