Never a dull moment.

The night of the funeral was certainly eventful: as expected, some of Chad's goons appeared at the cemetery, apparently in search of the buried necklace, and the Knights barely managed to escape with their lives thanks to the appearance of a giant dune-winder worm at the beck and call of a necromancer. Yep. The other team had their own share of adventure at the hotel, and though they couldn't get Nadia to leave with them, they did establish contact, and swiped Decker Greenwall's mysterious hourglass artifact from his room at Dumage's prompting. They also ran afoul of a doppelganger in the employ of the other side, who prompted Elena to begin questioning exactly who or what she might be...

And of course, they finally met with Rafael's lawyer, a last minute replacement for Burt's usual guy, who had met with an unfortunate skiing accident or... something. Jeggred 'Jaka' Teken'Duis, and his brother Nym, garnered a great deal of suspicion from the team from the start, although Jaka seems entirely confident that he can get Rafael off on a temporary insanity plea. Either way, he's agreed to help them look for clues to try to illustrate Chad's role in events at the upcoming trial, and suggested, to that end, breaking into his Chicago office, one of many not-quite-legal suggestions he hinted at during their pow-wow.

All those Knights who are looking to assist him are meeting up with Jaka in a parking garage a few blocks away from the NOVA building, at his invitation. In fact, he's already there, leaning against his car, when they arrive.

[Myri isn't doing a great job at hiding her discomfort. But that might have just been the fact that she had to listen to Archer's terrible directions from the car's programming the whole way over.

She hangs back and just eyes Jaka, barely aware of all the car banter.]

[ ever so dryly: ] I'm certain the joke gains much, from being pointed out, repeatedly. [ he looks over the assembled and still-assembling, and remarks: ] Your friend, Francesca, didn't choose to come?

She was preoccupied.

Root canal. She's real broken up she couldn't make it. [ all of this said in a tone of LET'S GET ON WITH IT. ]

[How many of them are even human on failboat tho... like really?]

We'll bring her back a souvenir.

[Less and less everyday apparently.]

[It's the first thing she's said since she left their hotel.]

Right. Let's see what evidence that poofter was foolish enough to leave lying around his office.

[ Dawn's been doing the quiet, observing thing.

Do guys really get a sense of superiority by throwing around, you know, names and insults and stuff like that?

I imagine humans need seize a fleeting sense of superiority wherever they can find it. [ doot doot doo ] It's not a terribly long walk to NOVA, but this large of a group might be particularly noticeable.

Is this your racially superior way of telling us to split up? [HE'S GONNA CONTRIBUTE... now that he's waved his dick around.] We can go opposite ways down the block- first group heads in and goes straight for Chad's office, second group circles around the long way and checks out whatever else they can once they're in. That way we're not all prancing around Chad's office like a herd of elephants and the second group can keep an eye out for any trouble.

[it will mean leaving his gf and daughter/sister/who knows with creeper drowchan, but ...] The teams are beginning to look a bit lopsided, aren't they? I'll go with group one.

The more people we have looking, the faster we can get out of there. Hopefully.

You guys can have Archer. Finnick and I will take Spike. Three guys is enough to search an office. And a bunch of young girls and two shady looking guys busting into Nova? Totally legit. If you get caught by security, just have Archer say he's a secret agent.

[Myri nods, confident that between Buffy and Elena (who has a strange way of putting the man in his place...) that Archer would be fine in their care.]

[Spike shrugs. He's just as happy to not have Archer in his group, though he'd rather be with Buffy, as always. Still, he's sure she can handle kicking Jaka's ass if it's needed and protecting Myri and the rest. He can do the fun going through other people's stuff part.]

Or if you find anything good. That's also a totally viable excuse for phone call.

[Late, but not entirely missed, a sudden growing "WUB WUB WUB" heralds the approach of one, Sterling Archer, as he powerslides around the corner.]

[A liquor bottle flies out of the window to smash on the pavement. He flies up, and quickly stops his matching El Camino right next to Des', as he jumps out of the car and walks their way.

Hey, sorry... I had to go buy some stuff. Uh, What's the plan?

[She's not even phased anymore. Used to your shenanigans, Archer.]

We're splitting up. You're with me.

[Yup, that sure is all she's saying right now. She wants to get this show on the road, okay?
