Never a dull moment.

The night of the funeral was certainly eventful: as expected, some of Chad's goons appeared at the cemetery, apparently in search of the buried necklace, and the Knights barely managed to escape with their lives thanks to the appearance of a giant dune-winder worm at the beck and call of a necromancer. Yep. The other team had their own share of adventure at the hotel, and though they couldn't get Nadia to leave with them, they did establish contact, and swiped Decker Greenwall's mysterious hourglass artifact from his room at Dumage's prompting. They also ran afoul of a doppelganger in the employ of the other side, who prompted Elena to begin questioning exactly who or what she might be...

And of course, they finally met with Rafael's lawyer, a last minute replacement for Burt's usual guy, who had met with an unfortunate skiing accident or... something. Jeggred 'Jaka' Teken'Duis, and his brother Nym, garnered a great deal of suspicion from the team from the start, although Jaka seems entirely confident that he can get Rafael off on a temporary insanity plea. Either way, he's agreed to help them look for clues to try to illustrate Chad's role in events at the upcoming trial, and suggested, to that end, breaking into his Chicago office, one of many not-quite-legal suggestions he hinted at during their pow-wow.

All those Knights who are looking to assist him are meeting up with Jaka in a parking garage a few blocks away from the NOVA building, at his invitation.  In fact, he's already there, leaning against his car, when they arrive.

[Des drove the El Camino abomination BEGRUDGINGLY because it's so much more subtle than a van full of people. He did not successfully disable the voice thing, so the whole way to NOVA, he gets to listen to the DULCET TONES OF ARCHER calling him Desmond.

Needless to say, by the time they arrive at the parking garage, he's already tetchy. He parks the car like a sane person- TWO HANDICAPPED PARKING SPOTS REALLY ARCHER- and gets out.

...and then promptly takes one look at Jaka's car and raises an eyebrow.] And they say lawyers aren't subtle. [(wis check 20 total) HE GETS THE JOKE...]

[No but Des, YOUR CAR IS BEAUTIFUL. Vi thinks she's gorgeous and if he doesn't want it, she will totally take it and GPS Archer of his hands. Jsyk. She's super jealous she didn't get to experience that sweet ride.

And she says at much.]

So... you're gonna let me drive her right? Right? [Oh whatever lawyer person. She glances in his direction, hi, but distraction in the form of car. Whoops.]

I think the idea of letting other people drive might still be something of a trigger for Des.

[ she's just saying. anyway, banter aside, she gets out of whatever the other car is and heads up to jaka. ]

Let's just get this over with.

[ the drow offers her a small quirked smile, all cultured accent as he pushes off from his car. ] That's the spirit. [ ... apparently the spirit is... resigned compliance. ]

[Spike was probably driving the other car, so he'll get out of that and wander over to the rest of the group. He claps Des on the shoulder.]

You really took that less penis-shaped thing to heart, didn't you?

[Des oh-so-delicately peels Spike's hand away from his shoulder.]

It's Archer's car. And Vi, you can drive it into the river for all I care.

Okay, look, if a security guy stops us before we find Chad's office, just tell 'e, we got sent here by Burt to get some paperwork together. Nobody hear knows Finnick's retired and I'm not really his manager. [He points at Spike.] Guess that makes you the faithful bodyguard.

Ladies, please. We can do the banter thing later. [He moves towards the front desk to investigate, but fails his spot check abysmally, so he... misses anything of use to their finding Chad's office. That's promising. A+ detective work there, Des.]

[Yeah, Spike's with the guy who had a second job here. He raises an eyebrow at Des even though Spike wasn't particularly helpful himself and follows Finnick.]

[DES JUST BLOWS HIS BANGS OUT OF HIS FACE LIKE A DEJECTED TEENAGE GIRL. His hair is fluffy enough for that. It's a thing. And is just gonna stalk on after them.

If someone's watching NOVA right now, do you really think it'll be less conspicuous for three small groups to go in at intervals than for one big one? Not to ... rain on the parade, but I think if we're worried about somebody catching on, to begin with, breaking off into little pods isn't gonna change that.

I'm with Buffy. [A beat, nose wrinkling, because that doesn't sound right but now it probably looks insulting. Whoops.] I mean not with Buffy. Just, you know what I mean. She makes a valid point. We're gonna be noticable no matter what, we might as well go in all together and get it done with. Plus we're a group of fine ass ladies, isn't that part of the music industry dealio? Vag Fest 2013: all groupies, all the time.

[It doesn't escape her that she can pass for a decade younger than she actually is, more probably if she put effort into it.] You severely underestimate the lengths teenage fans will go for One Direction. That's pretty much a flaw free cover. Do you know what they have in those offices? Merchandise. All the autographs and concert clothing worn by... that douchenozzle and his friends. It's a hysterical screaming fan's e-bay dream come true. Oh. My. Gosh. Keijen Blade's autograph! [She affects a giddy sort of high pitched excitement but drops it a second later to mime gagging.
