[ the pendergast manor is a sprawling sight, impressive even to those who live in the world's most ridiculously sized castle. the whole place has a sort of country club air, and white gloved butlers escort the little troupe of knights through the halls, past expensive paintings and all the other old money trappings. ]

[ oh yeah, he's dead, that means lissa can just sit down on the floor again, looking at solace in horrified fascination. because he just turned a vampire to dust with a few words. lissa is a vampire. appropriately horrified. ]

[Sydney just watches with fascination that manages to finally be more consuming that the horror of magic.

Because Solace just disintegrated that vampires.]

Well, that would have been a lot more convenient back home.

[Thoster glances back at Faith, then over to Solace and just... Well, he's impressed and relieved all at once.]

Good show- both of you. [But that's all he's got before he rushes over to Lissa, kneeling on the floor beside her where she sits.] How're you feeling, lass? Are you hurt?

[Relieved, Phineas is just going to have a nice lean against this wall... and slump to the floor. He's never really been in an actual fight before, so once the adrenaline is out of his system he's going to be hurting from that vampire's slam... But he'll try to act tough with a Bluff of 27 to just look tired / plane-sick.]

[ lissa pales a little at sydney's comment but she doesn't take it personally and she shakes her head at thoster's question, dismissing it with no thought to her own pain. ] I'm fine. Are you...? Phineas?

[ she believes his bluff with her sense motive of 12, but she worries anyway, jade eyes lighting on all members of their party, lingering on faith as her hand reaches out to pat thoster's arm reassuringly, putting a little pressure on it in a silent plea for him to help her up. ]

No worries... [Phineas lies, and offers up a reassuring wave.] How is our charge? [He glances in Callista's direction.]

[ callista shakes her head slowly, staring at the pile of dust on the floor with a disgusted expression.

"I thought you guys were supposed to keep that freak away from me."

faith looks up at her, gesturing towards where the vampire had been. ] Did you miss the part where we totally kicked his butt? Cuz, uh, it was pretty awesome.

[Thoster gladly helps Lissa up to her feet, remaining close in case she's still a little dizzy. He casts a look to Phineas but the man's looked a bit odd since they left London, so maybe he's alright? Calista's tone draws his attention.]

Would have been worse had we not been here. There's no denying that. But it seems that he won't be bothering you anymore.

Are you okay? [ she tacks that on to the rest of the comments to callista even though she's sure that by her tone the woman is fine. ]

You further put yourself, and us, in danger when you claimed to have no idea who was stalking you. [ she glances down at the dust briefly before arching one eyebrow at the socialite. bitch, we have clearly established that you so did. ]

Your father will not be suing. [ lissa manages to put some serious force behind her words (diplomacy nat 20, 33 total and intimidate 23....? idk she's not trying to be intimidating but she's not going to let callista walk all over them.) ] We neutralized the threat to your safety, you would do well not to invite more, lest we need to return and go through this all again.

[Thoster has no idea what suing is! But he's none too pleased with the girl's display of ungratefulness.]

Wouldn't mind speaking with your father myself, actually. Is he about?

[ you can only either intimidate or use diplomacy, not both, but I WILL ASSUME YOU WANT TO USE THE NAT 20...

faith speaks up too. ] Not to mention there's a dead lady in the other room. Who would probably be way less dead if you had just been honest.



[ callista shifts uncomfortably, looking chastened by them all, eyes dropping to the floor, before she looks up at thoster nervously ]

... Please don't tell my father.

Or what? You'll sneer at us? [Phineas is officially done with her shit.]

My darling Lissa was attacked, someone's apparently dead? [He wasn't there for that, but he looks to the others for re-affirmation.]

You've got all the mental prowess of a troll, girl. [He spits the insult through his gritted black teeth.]

[ she balks slightly at that, obviously unused to anyone talking to her that way. solace sighs and turns to head back down the hall. ] I'll see what I can do for the woman.

Alright, alright... [Thoster steps forward to stand between the group and Calista.] Let's not forget that the lass has had her share of the trauma. [And she's also the client, so he's thinking about that as well. Not that he needs this to go especially well to get paid, but he'd hate for Wynn's reputation to get tarnished because of a brat's bruised ego.]

Perhaps we should see the rest of your guests out, hm?

[ callista looks grateful for thoster's interference, even as she nods sullenly. "I'll... deal with the guests." she turns to head back towards the ballroom, but stops and looks back, before mumbling almost inaudibly: "Thanks..." and vanishing once more. ]

[ lissa watches her go. she kind of reminds her of mia. and not the friendly version, but the version rose punched in the face... ]

Someone should tell her father, someone needs to keep her safe.

Perhaps I should. [He doesn't want anyone getting too emotional, so Phineas is out. The man's wounded and tired- that's plain enough to see. He doesn't want to put Lissa in any further harm, nor Sydney. Faith can obvious take care of herself, but perhaps she should watch over the others. And Solace.... well, he wasn't really the sort of person to break bad news to anyone.]

I'll go with. [ she straightens her shoulders and smooths down her dress, flicking some dust of the silky fabric. she's good at taking and she knows her way around rich people, tbh. ]

I shall accompany you then, dear, in case there's anything else nasty lurking about.

[The party is over Phineas. You can drop the doting lover act.]

[ it's not that hard to find mr. pendergast. he's an imposing man in a severe suit, with a streak of gray in his otherwise black hair and a permafrown. ]

[Thoster doesn't mind the company/backup really. As they approach Calista's father, he steps up and offers a hand.]
