The flight to Essen is very short, only about half an hour, and Sydney makes good time flying them there. Wynn has a car already rented and waiting for them as usual and then it's a short drive to the coordinates Lady Nell sent them.

While the neighborhood in question was once a very nice residential development, it now shows decades of neglect. There is a squat, one-story storefront across from what appears to be a riot control vehicle that appears severely battered.

[Felicity hesitates for a moment, before glancing back to her.]

Think the local cops can handle him?

I can hack the police files tonight and check up on them. If anything looks off, we can handle it then. [And if the press don't pick up the scent, he'll make it viral too. The world will know about this shit by morning, basically.]

The Knights aren't in the habit of taking prisoners when we can hand things over to the authorities. What would we do with him if we took him with us?

[She wasn't thinking prisoner. But she also didn't have an answer of what they'd do with him either, so she just nods in agreement. It's entirely possible it was her guilt talking anyway.]

[She jerks her head to the door, and this is more directed to Andrew who was doing the tech stuff.]

[ Sebastian looked down at the boy still then looked to them.]

I'll catch up, go on.

[ he spoke as he moved to go look for a sheet to tear off a gurney. A moment of sympathy here.] If he wakes up he doesn't need to see his sisters corpse.

[ sydney watches him with a furrowed brow, but then a certain sadness washes across her features and she nods, turning to take andrew's arm to steer him out of there. ] C'mon. I think we've seen enough.

[ it's when they're out of earshot of the others that she turns to say very quietly to him: ] She would be proud, you know. [ she gives him a significant look, sympathy in the glance, and then releases his arm with a pat to move on ahead.

the police do indeed come across the horrific scene, where they work to identify the women and provide them the care they require, as well as getting each of them back to their homes. further research on who the company was behind all this leads to a series of dead ends ... it seems that whatever 'parent' company was behind all this knew how to cover their tracks, and covered them well.

lady nell pays the knighthood the reward she had originally promised to ice's irregulars, and sends words to the husband who'd hired her about the location and state of his wife.

the mission met with too dark of an end to be called a real 'success', but it's clear that they helped save not only all these kidnapped mothers, but also their potential children from a fate worse than death. it's hard not to sleep better at night for that much, at least. ]
