The murder the Knights are sent to investigate took place in an abandoned warehouse, near the largest highway in London. The aging and dilapidated structure is covered with graffiti and bits of rusting metal.

Squad cars and emergency vehicles have surrounded the building. Outside the main entrance, police officers are questioning a small crowd of people when the Knights arrive.

Fred parks the car, and looks across through the passenger window.

"Must be the place. Let's roll."

Well, that's where the important things happen, isn't it? [Internal backflips once that access card is swiped. Awh yeah. She follows after the doctor.]

[So impressive, Faye. Miles follows suit, trailing after Faye and trying to get a good look at everything as they start to move into the lab. (spot 20 total)]

[who's fucking excited about getting to go into the lab? THIS BITCH. (also who is somewhat impressed? ... also this bitch.) (annnd spot 16)]

[Taradiddle slips in towards the back of the group, looking around curiously (spot 16). She's sort of looking for a good opportunity to slip away from the group and investigate without them cramping her style, but the whole access card thing makes that difficult.]

[ this state of the art laboratory facility presents a stark contrast to the building's plain exterior. microscopes, medical equipment, chemicals, and tanks of liquid nitrogen dominate the spacious room. Three small electronic devices are lined up on a table, beeping quietly. ]

"This is where our work takes place."

[ Dr. Fulbert walks over to a large metal door emblazoned with biohazard signs. beside it is a glass window that reveals only a dim green glow from within the room. ]

"Our work here is quite exciting, as you will see."

[ He opens that metal door as well and ushers them into an immense, dimly lit room, holding the door open to wave them through. On the far side of the wall, Miles and Astrid immediately notice there are four large tubes filled with a greenish liquid. Three are empty, but inside the fourth floats a large beast that resembles nothing so much as a dinosaur in some form of hibernation. ]

[Stepping into the room, Faye is more focused on keeping up the persona and the act than anything else. Getting them in is part 1. Now she has to keep it up and get them out of there once they have information. This is a good start.]

It's your work we're so interested in, Dr Fulbert. How did you get start in this line of research?

[OMG FAYE IS ASKING THE WRONG QUESTIONS SHE NEEDS TO ASK ABOUT THIS FUCKING BADASS DINOSAUR THING. that so has to be the thing that killed whatshisface. while faye is busy ... being boring, astrid decides to take some initiative and sneak over for a closer look at it. (move silently 18)]

[ fred is a lot less subtle, ok. ]

Are those... dinosaurs?

[ dr. fulbert looks up at them, smiling fondly. ]

"Amazing creatures, aren't they? I was always into paleontology as a boy, fascinated by Crichton's work... As many people are. But few dared to take it a step further."

[IF WE'RE ALL GOING TO ASK QUESTIONS NOW ... ]

But you did. Did you bioengineer this guy? [she motions to the dinosaur in the tube that she is now standing next to.]

[ fred joins astrid in front of the cage, leaning forward to watch it bobbing. ]

"I did. I'm quite proud of my work here."

[ fred removes the collar from his pocket surreptitiously, showing it to astrid (sleight of hand 21). it's an exact match to the one currently on the dino in the tank. he raises his eyebrows at her, and then asks: ]

Where are the other three?

[ dr. fulbert's eyes narrow slightly... and faye might notice that his gaze cuts between astrid and fred - as he makes the spot check to see the tag in his hand anyway. ]

"... Ah. I had hoped to recapture the ones that escaped quietly, but your intrusion has ruined my plans. I'm so sorry... whoever you are."

[ moving with lightning speed for such an unathletic man, he reaches out to slam a hand against the door control and leaps out just as the door slams behind him with a hydraulic hiss, trapping them inside. ]

Hey! [Faye calls out as he moves, but she's too slow and only manages to pound her fists against the door.]

What the hell do you think you're doing?!

Uh... [Taradiddle draws her hooked hammer.]

Just gonna put out a guess but you should probably save your fists for hitting the dinosaurs we're trapped in with.

Dinosaur! One! Singular! [astrid is currently pissed as hell and PULLING OUT HER GUN LIKE R. KELLY. who also does so when pissed as hell.]

[Wow, that sure happened fast. Guess who was distracted by holy shit dinosaurs.]

Any chance there's a second exit?

[As he looks around for something resembling one. Even an air duct, maybe? (Spot 15)]

[ there is absolutely nothing in the way of a vent. that can not be osha-certified. ]

Faye, move. [ fred slams his shoulder against the door (str 10), but then winces, basically only succeeding in hurting himself. ] Shit.

[ through the safety glass beside the door, they can see dr. fulbert reach a control panel and slap a button. behind them, the fourth tube slides open, some green liquid sloshing out.

one reptilian eye opens, dilating as it notices them all. the creature looks like this, complete with goopy feathers. ]

[Faye manages to step aside just in time just as Fred slams against the door.]

Nice one, muscles. [She pulls out her gun and levels it for the glass that the damn doctor is now behind and pulls the trigger (attack 21). it's probably bullet proof, but wow she is not thinking about that okay.]

[And because I never established him as carrying any kind of weapon, and he's not much of a shooter, Miles will look around for something potentially sharp so he doesn't have to...punch the dinosaur. (Spot 17).]

[ there are dissection tools on one table that would count for knife stats. the dinosaur slowly rises up on its haunches, shaking off its slumber and disorientation, and starts to pick its way out of the tube slowly.

those who gets a 15+ on their spot sees dr. fulbert grab a beeping device off a table and fleeing out the door. ]

[ astrid took a paleontology class in college many yurrs ago and therefore KNOWS MANY HORRIFYING THINGS ABOUT DINOSAURCHAN. she's just going to ... approach the problem head-on. or at point blank, considering where she's standing. with her gun. (ranged atk 10) ]

Oh, shit, Baravar help me. [This is... actually a prayer, not just random blathering. She's calling up some divine favor to give herself a +1 on attacks and damage rolls. She moves towards the dinosaur cautiously.]

[Faye is too distracted by the dino coming out of its cage and Astrid firing to notice Dr Asshole doing anything (spot 6) but she does raise her gun again and fire off another shot, this one right for the creature (attack nat 20, damage 19).]

[Score. A mini knife. He moves to grab one before trying to maneuver himself between the dinosaur and the ladies.

[ faye's shot strikes it hard in the chest, and the dinosaur screeches, jerking back horribly. it pulls its snout back up to glare at her, nostrils flared, but then miles moves in front of her, and it angrily leaps at him, raking at him ferociously with its rear talon (atk 26, dmg 10). meanwhile, anyone who makes a 15 spot check will notice dr. fulbert peace out that door entirely. ]

[seriously tho, catching dr. mcsketchypants will probably not help them at this point (LIKE HE'S GOING TO TELL IT TO HEEL??), so astrid isn't paying him any mind and instead is focused on trying to slay the dinosaur. so she fires again. YOU CAN'T HURT MILES, HE'S TOO HOT. (ranged atk 15)]

[T-Diddle notices the not-so-good doc leaving (spot 16), but she's a little busy smashing it in the freaking skull with a nat 20 hammer time attack (dmg 39 with penetration too idk how this happened).]
