The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ she grins, leaning over to rest her head on his shoulder. she doesn't really care about the game or the show. she's just there for the andrew. ] Not saying a word.

[Andrew glances at Ella as she leans against him, then the game and the show playing. He looks down at his hands with the controller and finally just sets it off to the side. His arm shifts to move up and around her. It's not even about being smooth. He just likes having her near again.]

Good. [He gives her a little smile before turning back to the show, feeling like things in his life are definitely back where they belong.]

[ aww yeah, ella wants the snuggles. she missed her best friend. and curled up on the couch absently watching doctor who with her cat is pretty much heaven. ] Pass the cheese itz.

[He has to stop petting the cat in order to reach off the to the side table to grab the box and hand it to her. But he knows better than to think his hand is free now. He settles it back in his lap, idly scratching at the cat behind the ears.]

Y'know... I wonder if I could build a TARDIS...

[ omnom she settles the box in her lap and unwrinkles the bag loudly just to get it out of the way. ] I thought they were grown? That might've just been in commentary on Torchwood though, now that I think about it.

Well it wouldn't be exactly the same anyway. Earth version. I think I'd make a good Doctor, though, don't you? Y'could be my companion.

Or I could be the Doctor and you could be my companion. He's always wanted to be ginger. If he can't be Idris Elba, he might as well have a vagina.

[Normally, he'd fight with her about it, tell her all the reasons why he would make a perfectly fine Doctor, but really- he doesn't feel like it.]

No, then I would just want to snog your face off and it would be awkward. You could be Rose though! And Bo could be Jack! Then you two could dance while Mickey and I -- Edain can be Mickey -- make a mess out of something.

Don't tell me you're still hanging around that jerk. [No one was very surprised that Andrew and Edain don't get along.]

[ she sticks out her tongue, rolling her eyes slightly. ] Yeah, he's a sexist, rude, bastard of a dick. He still makes me laugh and he's obviously got some redeeming qualities otherwise Wynn wouldn't've let him in.

[ but really, he makes her laugh, that's it. and he's a massive boost to her ego always. ]

[Andrew just grumbles something under his breath about the 'fucking Hide.' But instead of arguing further, he just stuffs some doritos in his mouth.]

[ MOAR EYE ROLLING. ] Oi, what if I had joined the Hide? [ not that she would have because she is the most fragile person ever with her staggering 13hp like w o w. but she is violent enough to have considered it for twelve seconds. ] Would you still be personally affronted that it exists?

[badexample]

You're different. You treat me like shit because you love me, not because you think you're better than me.

Fred? He likes everyone. Dovan is the nicest bloke possible. Finn likes you, he just doesn't use his words. Sir Lanston Charles Montgomery Wingates Wellington hates everyone by equal measure so you cannae actually count him. If you really want to generalize a sect thinking you're bollocks then it's the Dragon's Fire, we're all arseholes. Or you lot, thinking we're all idiots. [ so there, andrew. ]

[She's right about some of them. Probably. But Andrew just keeps his eyes stubbornly forward and mouth shut. It's not really about any of the people in the Hide. His mother had been part of the sect, after all. He's just compared himself to them for his entire life- or rather, he compared himself to his younger brother his entire life. Adam just happened to end up in the Hide. It'll always be a sore spot for him.]
