The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Actual freaking Nat 20 over here, but he chose a simple suit with a dress shirt, no ties or extra additions. He looks comfortable, at ease and in his element.

And Matthew, rather than feeling intimidated, is quite enthralled by the fact that this squiring party is essentially, all for him. It should be overwhelming, but he's fascinated and he's been in high spirits since arriving at the frankly, exceptionally impressive castle.

He is, more than anything, interested in mingling. And as a result, he tries to introduce himself to as many people as possible or just generally mingle. So he might be lingering near the edge of your conversation, looking interested, or he might walk right on up with a friendly smile and a glass of something sparkling in his hand.]

I feel a bit like the odd man out. Everyone more or less knows my name, and I have not yet been introduced to, from the looks of it, nearly the entirety of the guest list.

[Alainn smiles at his approach, remembering how it felt to be the new fish in the big pond. Fortunately for her she actually remembered to get dressed up for this shindig,and with a 19 disguise check she doesn't look all that bad herself.]

[Matthew's smile brightens and he takes her hand, ever the gentleman of course, he will potentially get himself in trouble when, rather than shake, he gives the back of her hand a light kiss with a bow of his head.

It isn't even that he's a ladies' man, it's just all this fancy ceremonial knights and squires thing is going to his head.]

[ ella has been gone for a while but it's easy for her to get her bearings, she's been here longer than she's been away. even easier when her nosy ginger and white kitten is trying to make more friends for her. the kitten sidles right up to matthew and winds around his ankles with a soft purr as ella chases after him, ginger curls bouncing and thick irish accent getting thicker. ]

Aodhagán, stop it. For fuck's sake, stop fondling the bloke's ankles, you twat. What if he's allergic, you mangy cow, you could kill him!

[ she glances up at the man in question and shrugs apologetically. ] Sorry, he doesn't listen.

[ an affable voice pipes up behind him, attached to a very amiable looking man in a nice suit ] Well, then. Let's have a look at you!

[And he manages to catch a Kate, looking gorgeous (disguise 20 total) herself. She takes the drink with a small smile before nodding.]

[ yo bitches, ella is all up in you. the short redhead is mainlining the whiskey over here. and for some miraculous reason she's rolled a nat 20 so she looks beautiful in her pink dress, if not slightly sad. COME MEET HER. ]

[Andrew looks... like he always does (disguise 10). He's not even sure why he's here, really, but all of those thoughts and awkwardness disappear when he's struck with a case of HOLY SHIT IS THAT ELLA?!?!

He crosses the room with long strides and doesn't even say hello before he literally picks her up into a bear hug and squeezes the hell out of her.

[Felicity looks lovely (disguise 26), as per usual, going with a look that's a little simpler than her normal fare, but still well put together. She has a drink in hand and is wandering the ballroom, looking for anyone and everyone interesting to talk to.

[When you can't find Prince Charming, why not take a wicked witch? Faye has meant to keep a closer eye on Lissa ever since learning that she knows Rose. But she got distracted by her own life for awhile. After learning that she's going to be promoted, she's pretty much on cloud nine so she approaches the girl with a smile that is not completely fake.]
