The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

By the time Ella finds him, he's lounging back on the couch with an open bag of Doritos next to him, playing the game while the menu screen repeats on the other half of the tv.]

[ and ella flounces in with the alcohol a whole eleven minutes later, pulling up her usual spot next to him and delicately tucking her legs underneath her because she is a lady, thank you, and she knows how to sit gracefully in a dress. oh yeah, and aodhagán the cat pads in after her and makes a beeline for andrew to nudge his leg like pets, please. ATTEND TO ME, HUMAN. ] What series did you put in?

[He doesn't look up while he's playing, mouth hung half open in that zoned out way he gets when he plays. But he notices her and hears her just fine.]

Series One of New Who. [Which is his go to because my characters share my good taste tbh. He glances down when the cat shows up.

Keysmash! C'mere [Thats what he calls her cat because that's what his name looks like. Andrew is rude. But he puts the cat on his lap and gives it head scritches because he loves the thing.]

His name is Aodhagán. [ she corrects him quietly like she doesn't care (because aodhagán himself doesn't care), but it's force of habit to do so anyway. the cat curls up in his lap, purring happily, like aww yis, all the pets, good peasant. ] Have you even got the other series?

He answers to both. [Andrew shrugs. It's a cat. It barely gives a fuck about them.] I marathoned the whole thing while you were gone. [He missed her. It reminded him of her okay??] But nothing beats series one. You jumping in to play or what?

He answers to both because I told him he's not allowed to bite you so he's decided to like you instead. [ yeah, she actually had this chat with her familiar, okay. she grabs the other controller in answer instead of, you know, actually answering him. ]

Smart cat. [Andrew actually tears his eyes from the game long enough to glance at her and nudge her with his elbow. As she gets her controller on and joins the game, he points at the screen.] Saw some pedestrians up that way. Consider it a welcome home present?

Oh, goody! [ doop de do, watch her book her ass right over there. hey hey pedestrians. she's all casual and hobnobbing and then death. kicky death to the sounds to ella's delighted giggling. ]

[Never let it be said that Andrew doesn't know how to treat a lady right. Well, he doesn't really see Ella as a lady. She's an Ella. They are a creature all their own.]

So how's Finn? [Just gonna casually ask about your family while distracted by violence and sci fi. This makes serious conversations easier, right?]

Still dramatically heroic. Stopped me from falling off the fucking roof again. I don't even think he was awake. I think he's fine. Fine-ish. [ she shrugs, she doesn't always understand her older brother. they don't really do the whole talking thing with each other, she just knows him well enough to know how he feels all the time. ] As well as can be expected, I suppose.
