The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Oh my god, you love her. [ she grabs his arm and drags him toward the bar because he killed her drink and she needs it man, she needs it. it's hard being happy when you're actually not. ] Tell me all about her. Now, in loads of detail.

I don't- I don't love her... I just met her! [And now he's being dragged. Yes, back to the normal routine. And just like normal? Cue the babble.] Her name's Bo. She's a Knight. One of the freelance ones? She's really nice and funny and she likes pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. [His favorite okay. It's a thing.] And she can play Time Crisis while fucking blindfolded. And she's so hot, Ella. Like unbelievably hot, like you would think I was pulling your leg if you met her and I said it was her that I went on this date with.

You, my darling, are such a magnificent twat. [ she means this with love, ordering another glass of whiskey and one on the rocks for andrew. seriously though, as always her insults = love. she's only nice to andrew when someone is dead. (so she was probably really nice before she left to go back to her dad.) ] I love freelancers, they're always so exciting. Keep talking, what's she look like?

Shut up. [He says with a small smile, head ducked to hide the blush. He knows well enough to understand that this is better than if she was still being weirdly nice to him.]

About so high. [He holds a hand out around the 5'5" mark.] Long dark hair, gorgeous brown eyes. She's just... freaking perfect.

Well, I mean... She's probably around. [Suddenly nervous. What do???] It's not like it's anything serious. I mean it was just one date.

Uh-huh and you've just called her perfect and you're gushing like a twelve year old. Have you written her name in hearts yet?

Ha ha. [He gives her a little glare.] I just... don't want to screw it up. You know me. I sort of... have a habit of doing that.

That's 'cause you try too hard. [ she pats his arm fondly. ]

You know- I actually didn't. Not on the date, at least. She told me not to impress her, so I didn't. We went to an arcade. Gino's.

You took her to Gino's? [ she looks judgmental. ] Thats brilliant! [ looks can be deceiving. ]

[She holds a hand out to Ella.]

[ ella stares for a second because ho ly shit, bo is really pretty. which prompts the question, as her hand goes out automatically. ]

Are you blind? [ a beat. ] Wait, sorry, no, that was rude. You're just really pretty and Andrew is... [ mine. ] Andrew.

Ella! [He gives a look like OH MY GOD DON'T YOU DO THIS TO ME... Then he smiles at Bo very nervously.] Ella- this is Ella.

Andrew is sweet and fun. I've been hit on a lot of guys, and let me tell you, the super attractive ones? They're usually assholes, full of themselves, and are more interested in arm candy than actually talking to me.

[She smiles, though her eyebrows are raised.]

Well I know that. [ huffiest of huffs. ] He's my best friend, he's perfect. Most girls don't notice because they're tremendously thick.

[badexample]

[He will just slowly turn red over here and try not to be too offended at the fact that he doesn't qualify as 'super attractive.' The good things that are being said sort of mask that one.]

[Sorry, Andrew. No one is going to say you would be a supermodel.]

[She gives Andrew an expectant look.]

...You are going to ask me out again, I hope?

[Stunned by the directness of it, Andrew just stands there, mouth hanging open.]

I... I mean I was going to.. Uh... If you want, we could maybe...

[ ella nudges him roughly. ] Andrew.

Yes. He means yes. Sometimes our accents make it difficult to decipher, but he means yes.

[She laughs gently, looking between them.]

Well, I won't keep butting into your conversation. [She looks to Andrew.] Call me, find me, whatever. [Then a glance at Ella.] And it was nice to meet you.

[And then she walks away with a grin.]

[Andrew just sort of fumbles nervously until she's already turned away and walking off.]

I'll, uh- I'll talk to you later. [Wow, that was pathetic. He covers his face with one hand and just mutters various curses under his breath.]
