The "afterparty" is the real main event of the night at every squiring, but tonight's party is a little different than usual - Faith has successfully lobbied (as in roped people into helping her decorate for) a Chinese New Year's party, or Lunar New Year, theme.  With Knights from all over the world, it was easy to get input from those who traditionally celebrate the holiday, and Wynn is all about the spirit of cultural unity.  Not to mention, the second of the 15 days of the spring festival is all about spending time with one's family and friends.  

The lavish, opulent ballroom has been transformed, filled with red lanterns, peach blossoms, kumquat plants, and chrysanthemums.    People are encouraged to dress in red to ward off evil spirits and bad luck, and avail themselves of the New Year's Cake, golden champagne cocktail, rice pudding, candied fruits, and the Tray of Togetherness.

As always, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

[He should say no. This is a bad plan. But he's curious and he likes her, and this was obviously something she thought was important for him to know.]

Alright. [Only time in his life that he's been anything close to brave. Jumping in head first without any idea what he's getting into.]

[Well, she's been feeding on people in the Castle and around London for awhile now and no bodies have piled up, so bad plan, yes. Worse plan? No, Bo's definitely had worse.

Hope he doesn't mind her stepping forward and completely destroying any personal bubble he might have had a moment before. Her hand reaches up to lay against his cheek as she leans in and presses her lips gently against his.

As first kisses go? This will be an interesting one.]

[Interesting doesn't begin to describe it. To Andrew, it's basically the best kiss he's ever had. He feels like he's lost all sense of up and down and all he can do is stand there frozen and hope that she just keeps kissing him like that. He's not even sure if she's done anything sex vampire-y yet. But she's kissing him and he's okay with that.]

[She needs some kind of reaction before she can start, a tangible reaction to the gesture, and it certainly comes quickly enough. Frankly, she would have been disappointed if it hadn't, but that's one less thing for her to be concerned about.

Her lips part a bit, and while she originally only meant to take the tiniest bit, just as a demonstration, it's been a short while since she's fed last, and it lasts longer than she probably should have let it (will save 10).

His chi is warm and comforting as it passes from him to her, just like he is, even if it lacks the punch she'd get from someone supernatural. Frankly, she doesn't care too much about that anyway.

And then, finally, she pulls away, though she stays close, watching him to see if he freaks out or, worse, feels too weak to stand.]

[The sensation is strange. He knows that it's happening and can sort of feel it when it does, but he doesn't mind. It's like sharing a part of himself that he would never be able to share, a part he never knew he even HAD to share.

When she pulls back, he feels a little lightheaded, but nothing more than what he would expect from a knock out first kiss from the hottest girl he's ever laid eyes on. He doesn't feel ill. Slowly, his eyes open and he gives her a lazy, dopey sort of smile.]

[Seeing him smile makes one of her own break across her face, though there's a bit of relief to it, too.

Feeding off humans is always a little scary for her, honestly. The ones she kissed before she learned control didn't fare nearly as well.]

I take it that means you're okay?

Who me? Yeah, I'm great. [He realizes that he should probably say something more substantial.] Uhm... so is it always like that? I mean, can you kiss someone without, y'know...

Well, you didn't run away screaming, so that's a good sign.

[Though after the buzz wears off, and he has time to think about it, he might not be so keen. Wait and see, she supposes.]

Yeah, I can. If it goes further than that? I have some control over how much, but I can't prevent it all together.

You mean when you... Oh. [Yes he's had sex before, but talking about it with her is new and slightly strange.]

That's kind of cool.

[He's not really worried about the part where it means she's probably made out with plenty of guys. He sort of assumes that might be true just when she was an extremely hot girl. Because she keep choosing to hang out with him so he's going to just take a deep breath and do the thing he told Ella he was gonna do.]

Do you want to go out with me again? Properly out. Because I realize this is a bit rubbish and barely counts as a date. So how about I make it up to you- say Friday after next? [For those keeping score, that's Valentines Day.]

It...wasn't always.

[It's some rare insight into what her life was like after she first got here, before she learned that there were others like herself, at least as far as the supernatural went. Showing up here and barely knowing what she was? Not particularly cool, especially for those she hurt because of it.

She doesn't even want to know how many there were in the memories that the Veil had taken.]

Sounds like you talked to Ella tonight too. [She's smiling, though, and clearly more relaxed.] It's a date, so long as duty doesn't call before then.

I'm not trying to like... change the subject or anything. I just wanted to make sure I got that out while I had the nerve. But I mean. Considering all the things you could have been? Succubus is pretty low on the scary side.

[He says without really knowing much about it. WAIT UNTIL HE GOOGLES THAT SHIT.]

I've just...never tried to only feed off one person for any extended period of time, let alone someone who was human. So in case things ever go that direction, I just...wanted you to know first.

[WILL HE??? He doubts it. As they move out to the dance floor, he tries to find Ella to silently beg for help. Because as soon they start to dance? It's obvious just how little rhythm he has (perform dance 8). Total white boy moves here.]

[It's cool, Bo will just lead. (Dance 21) If it helps, she just grins and chuckles from time to time. She wanted to dance, it didn't...really matter how well he did it.]

[He's probably just mostly watching her move, because wow who wouldn't. Every now and then he tries to throw a little arm movement in there. But he should really just stop.]
