The "afterparty" is the real main event of the night at every squiring, but tonight's party is a little different than usual - Faith has successfully lobbied (as in roped people into helping her decorate for) a Chinese New Year's party, or Lunar New Year, theme.  With Knights from all over the world, it was easy to get input from those who traditionally celebrate the holiday, and Wynn is all about the spirit of cultural unity.  Not to mention, the second of the 15 days of the spring festival is all about spending time with one's family and friends.  

The lavish, opulent ballroom has been transformed, filled with red lanterns, peach blossoms, kumquat plants, and chrysanthemums.    People are encouraged to dress in red to ward off evil spirits and bad luck, and avail themselves of the New Year's Cake, golden champagne cocktail, rice pudding, candied fruits, and the Tray of Togetherness.

As always, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I suppose it won't happen overnight. [ that would be nice though, since she assumes the first step to figuring out the veil is figuring out why these worlds specifically. ] It's weird that its so similar. This one to mine, I mean.

I hear the working theory is something about... parallel universes, instead of other dimensions. I guess that makes more sense, huh?

Sounds like a movie. I'm not sure I like the idea of a parallel me, though.

Yeah, I mean, the odds of two worlds on different courses producing the same people seems pretty far fetched, at least, if you just drew two universes out of a hat. So there's that.

Well that's reassuring. [ she means it, taking another, slightly larger, sip of the drink. she smiles, the drink going to her head. ] Just me. And I suppose there's only one you. [ another smile, a touch more flirtatious than the last. ] Also reassuring because I can't imagine I'd like to share.

[ lissa that doesn't make sense. she means she wouldn't like to see him with another girl, which another him could do, but it comes out... as sharing. bless her drunk heart. ]

That so? [ it's hard to say how he takes it, but his little smirk indicates he's entertained at least ] Not the sharing type, are you?

Nope. [ she shakes her head, curls bouncing. ] Princesses don't share.

I do not! I am a princess. [ she tosses her hair sassily and puts a hand on her hip. ] Princess Vasilisa Dragomir, the last of the Dragomirs, Moroi royalty. [ "so there" is at the tip of her tongue. ]

I didn't even include my middle names. [ she makes a pouty sort of apologetic face like welp, it's gon' get worse. ]

Definitely. [ she grins brightly, all amusement and perfect teeth, and moves forward, looping her free arm around his neck. the personal space he covets? hers now. ] But I like your strange. I like you. And your strange. I strangely like you -- no, not that one.

cautiously, he puts his hands on her hips, looking down at her. ] I like your strange too.

Do you like me? [ she can't even pretend to be idly curious because too much alcohol. it's very, very obvious from her tone she doesn't mean just as friends, but in case that wasn't enough... ] I mean, do you like like me? Not just do you like me. Everyone likes me.

[ her expression falls almost comically fast. ] Except Rose. Ironically.

Maybe I like you enough for Rose and me both. [ wow that sounds like he assumes you were lesbians. maybe. ]

That's like... [ math. ] She doesn't like me, are you making up for negative numbers? [ poor lamb can't brain this at all. ] How much do you like me?
