[Tia sits about five rows back, near the window on the left hand side of the plane. She's got a crossword puzzle on her knee, but seems to just be ignoring it.]

[Koraith is taking up two seats up in the very first row, on the right hand side. He looks like he's asleep, and his rumbling echoes through the whole cabin.]

[Annnd Fred's sitting in the back, feet kicked up on the seat in front of him. He's got headphones in one ear, and his hands behind his head.]

[Andie wanders over to him, relatively slowly because she's a little shy around him. Not that anyone would notice. Slow for her is like powerwalking for other people. She takes a seat in the row across from him and gives a little wave.]

Whatcha listening to?

[nepotistic]

[He notices her coming, and gives her a smile when she sits. He waves his iPod slightly to indicate it] ... All American Rejects. [And he certainly doesn't sound like it's anything to be embarrassed about.]

[Andie doesn't think it's anything to be embarrassed about either, okay, she thinks it's awesome.] Cool! [...awkward pause. She didn't have any back-up conversation for after she discussed this.]

[It's ok, he notices and will gladly pick up the slack] ... You into music?

[Oh thank god.] Oh, sure. I was listening to some stuff a few minutes ago. Got kinda boring, though, this flight is long.

[nepotism]

Hey, at least we're staying in the same continent. Some of these things end up taking half a day or more.

Seriously? [Andie wrinkles her nose.] I would get so bored.

[nepotism]

You could always just run ahead, couldn't you? [There's a teasing look in his eyes] Scope everything out, get a bagel...

I thought about it! I probably could have, but you know. [She pounds a fist in the air.] Team solidarity. Plus, if it were a lot further, like, LA, I'm not sure I could make it.

Good to know you've got your limits like the rest of us mere mortals.

[Andie does not enjoy flying because it is slow and confined. She is not good with confined spaces because she gets antsy and four hours is an eternity. So she's got headphones on and is rocking out, lipsyncing the words and dancing in her seat. Oh my god can it be time to land yet this is the worst thing ever.]

[Riddick loves flying. He was more than a little miffed that they weren't allowed to sit in with the pilot. His bet was he could fly this hunk of pre-historic metal better than the other man any day. But no, instead he had to be content to sit in the back of the plane and keep to himself.

He was hoping he could at least. The twin teenage sugar girls were on this flight with him and he could only hope the peace and relative quiet lasted.]

[Peace and relative quiet? Pfft, that would be boring. After about half an hour, Andie makes her way to the back of the plane and plops herself down in the row in front of Riddick, kneeling on the seat so she can look over at him and chat.]

Has anyone ever told you that your name kinda sounds like "ridiculous?" [She snickers.] Riddick-ulous.

[He looks up from the newspaper he had been reading at the sound of the seat creaking in front of him. He knew the quiet couldn't last long, but a half an hour? This was going to be a long flight.]

Funny enough someone did tell me that before. [He says this in a pleasant enough tone, folding his paper casually as he looks up at the girl. A smirk tugs on his lips as he says his second sentence.]

Course, that was right before I killed 'im, so he didn't find it ridiculous for long.

[Um. Okay. Threats, not cool. Andie takes comfort in fact that she can pretty much definitely outrun him if he attacks her, but... small airplane. Maybe she'll hide behind the big dragon guy.

...naaahhh he's probably joking. Knights are supposed to be good, not people who will kill you for joking about their names.]

...Do you kill a lot of people?

[...okay, maybe she's a little worried he wasn't joking.]

[He gives her a cocky grin, happy to see her so unsettled, then rolls one of his shoulders in a casual shrug.]

Yeah, I've killed a lot of people, comes with the territory. But I didn't off him for making fun of my name, he just happened to have particularly bad timing.

[She relaxes visibly. Look he could have been a serial killer which would have SUCKED in many ways.]

What's the territory? I've never killed anyone. Kind of hoping I never have to.

[Lol, he really likes people to think he's a serial killer so they'll leave him be, but this is much more fun!

Riddick looks at her blankly for a moment, deciding just how much of the truth she really wanted. Probably didn't want as much as he could tell her. He sighs, leaning back in his seat and resigning himself to the coming interrogation, a smirk crossing his lips.]

The territory of being an escaped convict and murderer. 'Course, all that was a long time from now, so it's not like it's valid anymore, right?

[When she makes the comment about never wanting to kill anyone his face turns stony and he looks out the window beside him, his arms crossing over his massive chest.]

It's not an easy thing, taking someone else's life. 'Specially if you've never done it before. Maybe you'll escape that.

[She grimaces a little bit because this is getting really, really grim and she... doesn't want to think about killing people. She will hate this mission so much. But she can ask about him! He's got that whole exciting past thing that she doesn't have at all.]

Where'd you escape from?

Which galaxy are we talking about? [And yes, so far as you can tell, he is being completely serious rn.]

I've escaped from nearly a hundred Slams, from places like Butchers Bay to
Crematoria, all of which were worse than any prison here on Earth, and none of which even exist yet in this time.

[He looks at her expectantly, letting all of that sink in.]

...there are multiple ones? [Her eyes widen. She has only a sort of vague idea of what space is like, and astronomy is one of the many things she just blatantly failed to learn anything about due to her extreme ADHD. Even so, it's less the fact that there are multiple galaxies that surprise her as that there are multiple ones that people can go to and get jailed in.

And the rest of it sinks in and she grins.] Oh! Are you Shadow world?

Multiple galaxies? Yeah, more than you can count. I'm not from the Shadow World though. I'm from Earth, originally. I dunno how it really happened, but Jack explained it to me that though I came through the Veil too, I just came from the future.


[He again shrugs a massive shoulder very nonchalantly, like he talks about this every day.]
