Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Hook's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Hide members - the largest sect in the castle, with the most representatives here, and Dovan, Wynn, and Thoster wait up at the front of the room for David to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides.

Wynn finally gets things rolling, by saying in his loud listen-to-me voice: "Approach and kneel, Sir Killian Jones."

[Killian walks up and kneels, feeling a little self-conscious. Who is he fooling? He's a pirate, not a knight? At any minute they're going to realize they're making a mistake and stop the ceremony.

But it does seem to be really happening, and if anyone was going to call him out on his roguish past, for the moment, they seem to be keeping quiet.]

Sir Killian Jones. You have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of this organization that has been deemed sufficient to induct you into our order as a full Knight of the Silver Dragon. We ask at this time that you answer this question honestly:

Do you wish to accept this position?

[unhand]

[Hook shifts a little uncomfortably, far too aware of all the eyes on him.]

Aye.

[wynn]

Do you swear to respect all weaknesses, and constitute yourself the Defender of them?

[unhand]

[Even cowards? Well, if he's going to do this good guy thing he supposes he needs to take it all the way.]

Aye.

[...more to the protecting part than the respecting part.]

Do you swear to never recoil before thy enemy?

[unhand]

Aye. [That one's an easy one to make. He's never lacked for courage before an enemy.]

Do you swear to make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy?

[SURPRISE. Gold's here. Despite not responding to Hook's text, because he was like wtf is this a trap?? It's more than likely Belle convinced him to go and he can be found either on her arm or... giving this massive sect a onceover while he sips ale. Seriously, guys. Seriously. What's with your love of punching things? Magic is where it's at.]

[I can't believe you'd bring ale to a pirate party. RUM, GUYS. RUM. Hook's gotten his hands on some anyways and he's standing about looking way too pleased with himself. He's a real knight now!]

You know, I did wonder for a minute if they'd have to wrestle you out of the ceremonial armor.

[ she's mostly teasing. probably. maybe. ]

Oh, Swan. [He leans in towards her, smirking conspiratorially.] If you wanted me out of my armor faster, I should have said. Or better yet, came in and helped.

[uncurse]

If I'd wanted to, I wouldn't need an invitation.

[ she offers him a tight-lipped smirk in reply. anyway, more to the point, she glances around. ]

Did I see Gold here?

[unhand]

[Yeah, it's no secret she's got an open invitation to bang a pirate if ever she desires. But his smirk dims at her question. He shrugs.]

I think Belle dragged him along.

[JUST QUIETLY DANCING AROUND THE PART WHERE HE INVITED HIM.]

Huh.

[ with her sense motive of 30 she's got the feeling there's something to that story that hook's not telling her, but after a brief, brow-furrowed look of confusion, she simply shrugs it off. ]

Well, good for them.

It's not a big deal. [His shoulders hunch.] It's not like the bastard doesn't lurk around us enough as it is.

I just mean—They've been dancing around each other since Scotland. It's good to see they're figuring it out. [ she's not worried about his presence if hook's not; but him being belle's date is cute. ]
