The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I'd assumed he had said as much. [ anyone who has been around here long enough knows how wynn can be ] But hindsight is twenty-twenty, and I wouldn't have been able to leave my comrades behind in order to report back and wait for further orders, either. [ obviously since she previously died from similar "recklessness" ] Not when it was clear what sort of literal tortures they must have been enduring.

Vi comes barreling at her with a stream of words and thankfully, Hayley catches them all.]

Yeah, definitely Hayley, no to the cupcake, and you're my mentor? [Not to say anything negative, but she's definitely seeming a bit... not the type to be a mentor. It could be that she admitted to not being able to introduce herself to strangers without staging it as an accident.]

That's good to hear. [ she gives him a small smile before looking down into her drink ] We'll talk again soon. I'll have to set up an orientation, of sorts, and if you'd like - after you've had time to think on it - I can help make a few introductions to the others I mentioned.

[ she laughs softly ] No more parties, at least none you're forced to attend. Your orientation will be much more reserved, I promise.

[he smiles a bit, too, seeming more at ease than he was when she first came up.] Thanks, Francesca.

Sure is. [Natasha agrees with a small nod.] Well, officially introducing myself: hi, I'm Natasha. [Of course they'd been in the same ceremony together so there probably isn't much of a need, but it's better than something like 'hi person from the ceremony whose name I only know from that one time' or whatever.]

That is one word for it -- I didn't realize it was something people took seriously anymore. Last I heard musicians could become knights these days.

[Really -- in Rebekah's attempts to catch up with modern culture she's had a few rude awakenings.]

[ she steps closer as his back hits the wall, concern suddenly building in her voice. ]

Stiles, calm down; you are freaking me out. [ she holds her hands out in front of her in a sort of placating, settle down gesture, glancing between him and the rest of the party like what do. ] It wasn't a 'they.' It was the Veil. They didn't explain this to you?

She takes the hand, shaking it.]

[Rebekah was only really looking for one face -- and that was Hayley's. She had been meeting with Nik for reasons she can't quite remember now but she imagines they might have involved Hayley or the baby. Why else would he have contacted her after her exile? Either way she's determined to keep an eye on her friend.

Which is why she makes her way over to her with a small smile. Her glass definitely does not have water in it.]

I'm impressed they had armor that worked for you.

[Well at least she didn't say he sucks, so that's a good sign.] That bad of a taste? [Though to be fair, Natasha is fairly certain she probably doesn't have much room to talk.] I can work with that, yep -- guess I'll consider myself lucky in that case. How was your matchup?

[Archer stares her down, as if debating something internally, then he shrugs, takes a swig of his drink, and gives up;]

Alright, I've... seriously got nothing for this. Best I've come up with were 'Franny'... which just sounds stupid, or Arwen, because there's like no other noteworthy female elves... Except like, Galadriel, I guess. Not that I read nerd shit like Lord of the Rings, anyway - because I don't.

So... That being said... Hey, Francesca, how's things?

[Archer eyes him as if it's the scholarly question of the decade, then takes a gulp of his drink, and swirls it.]

No, not rusty. I was talking about that cult. [He wants to explain about the group he was thinking, but the more he tries to think about it, the blurrier it gets.] Nah, forget about it. I'm not sure what I meant either.

[He gently accepts her hand and shakes it. His face is still a bit blushed so he occasionally turns his head sideways, awkwardly trying to hide his reddened face.] Uhh... So... I take it you're a dark elf? I've never met one of your kind before.

[he just laughs.] I think you're required to show up to your own after-party. Or at least obligated to make a brief appearance. I meant the Knighthood in general.
