The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

No, not rusty. I was talking about that cult. [He wants to explain about the group he was thinking, but the more he tries to think about it, the blurrier it gets.] Nah, forget about it. I'm not sure what I meant either.

That happens. [ The Doctor nods, and seems understanding ] Half the time I don't even know what I'm on about either.

[He chuckles a bit at that.] Heh. You're funny, pal. I like you. The name's Max. What's yours?

[ There's a grin, overly pleased by such a comment. He still lies though, obviously (bluff 38) ]

[Yeah, even if there were 20 of him, it still wouldn't be enough to see through that lie. He literally has -1 sense motive modifier.]

Wow, that's the most generic name I've ever heard. Well, as I said, I'm Max. Maxwell Briggard. Pleasure to know you, pal. [And he pats the generic-named man on the shoulder, and with his half-orc strength, it's more like a whack than a pat.]

[ the Doctor is basically a bag of limbs all somehow strung together that 90% of the time manages to somehow stay upright, it's no surprise then that the smack takes him off guard and he somehow manages to fall on the floor from it because he apparently crit failed staying upright?

[Max stands there for a second and is like "Seriously? He fell because of that." He eventually hurries to the Doctor though.] Hey, are you alright? [He offer his hand to the Doctor.] Sorry, sometimes, I don't remember that my hand swing can be a bit overwhelming for a regular guy.

Yes... yes I'm... must have tripped. [ Well that was a bit weird. He's clumsy at the best of times but that was something special. ]

Wouldn't want to get caught with you in a dark alley!

I'll take that as a compliment. [He laughs out loud.] So, where do you come from, pal?

Oh me? Long way away. Old place. Gone now though. [ he trails slightly, and looks a little wistful. not much point trying to remember things that only hurt. ]

Sorry about that. [He pats the Doctor's shoulder again, this time it is less orcish and is more like consoling stroke.] At least, you got yourself a new home right here. Maybe it's not as comfy as your old place, but you'll adapt. At least, you have your own room here and you could mess it as much as you like without getting yelled at.

Home, yes. [ weird old word, that, he's not really used to having a home. The TARDIS is his home, he supposes. was his home. ]

Uhuh, that's what I've been doing with mine. Been a while since I had my own room, so better give it some personal touch. Messing your room is like a dog marking his territory. [Except you don't pee in your room.]

Ah yes! Like flowers or a poster of a popular musical performer?! [ it's such an interesting idea to him, never something he's really gone with. Not really had his own room. Not that he had ever really been short of them in the TARDIS ]

Uhuh, fill it with whatever you like. One of those black disc player, pictures of the Queen or maybe some chinese vases. Whatever antiques you want. [Because those are the things that the Doctor seems to be interested in.] I can help if you want an advice or two. [Consulting interior design to someone with orc blood is not a good idea though. He will literally mess your room.]
