The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ clerics are a great thing. five days ago, jack arrived back at the castle looking like hell warmed over, but now here he is, looking nat-20 hella good.

at least on the surface. he's a little slower to smile than usual, and he looks a bit wearied and distracted. hard to blame him, all things considered. ]

Perhaps an ill-placed sentiment, though not an unappreciated one. [ she gets a wan, but well meaning smile ] I'm not the one who was gone long.

Well, it's been quite some time since I have seen you, so the sentiment stands.

I wanted to be certain to tell you in person, what you did for Myri and for Spike, your actions are beyond commendable, and were greatly appreciated. There are few among us who would criticize your decision. [ so don't listen to the haters, jack ]

Perhaps you should mention as much to Wynn. [ it's said with some small amount of humor, rather than bitterness. but still. ]

I'd assumed he had said as much. [ anyone who has been around here long enough knows how wynn can be ] But hindsight is twenty-twenty, and I wouldn't have been able to leave my comrades behind in order to report back and wait for further orders, either. [ obviously since she previously died from similar "recklessness" ] Not when it was clear what sort of literal tortures they must have been enduring.

I'm certainly hard-pressed to consider it a mistake. Usually it's easier to see where Wynn's coming from.
