The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[With a skill check of 11+ Charisma modifier which equals him to 13, Chris looks rather decent even though he wasn't at all comfortable at partying. So he looked around rather nervously and got a plate full of food.]

[Max walks toward Chris and stops without saying anything for a while. He scans him with his otherworldly dark green eyes for a moment before finally saying a few words.]

Do I know you? You seem familiar?

I don't think so, unless you were at the squiring of myself and the other new Squires.

[Chris was more exhausted than anything, but saw little reason to be rude to the man.]

I'm Chris. Chris Ramirez.

[Yeah, you'll find a reason sooner or later.] Really? My mistake. Well, I'm Max. Maxwell Briggard. Nice to meet you, pal. [He offers his hand for a shake.] I haven't been here that long either, but welcome to the Knight, I guess.

[ jaina pushes her way over with a plate of her own and a little smile ] Having fun yet?

[Chris acknowledges the woman with a nod.] Big parties aren't really something that I excel at. And it just makes me a little uncomfortable with this many people. Chris Ramirez.

Jaina Solo. You'll get used to them. They feel smaller once you start to know more people.

I suppose that's true.

[With that thought of dealing with crowds out of the way, Chris took a sip of his drink then turned to face Jaina, with a sudden realization.] I remember you, a little bit. You were there when I was... confused, I guess that's the best way to put it? You and some other knights were fighting a monster in California.

[Chris gave a sigh directed at nothing really.] I guess we'll be working together now.

You got it. You'll be the one fighting monsters next time.

[Does this mean Chris is a little relaxed? Probably not but he gives her a small smile regardless.]

Something tells me I'll need the practice.

That's what the training room is for. Has anyone shown it to you yet?

[Chris came a small shake of his head.] Not yet. I suppose now probably wouldn't be a good time to start training what with all the knights here. There's always early tomorrow.

Have you done any training before you came here?

If you mean before I became a squire, and before I fell through the Veil? I think I was a soldier, but my memories are kind of... fuzzy at best regarding that life.
