The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Aye. It's hard to predict how many we'll bring on each month. I'm glad to see so many new faces, truth be told.

Why? [ her eyes narrow shrewdly, but she's curious. thoster wins, he got abigail to stop focusing on being anxious and focus on something else. and he's not a dog, so... you know, this is a big deal. ten points for piquing her curiosity. ]

New blood, new life. Things have been hard lately. I'm hoping that we might rally with a new batch to train.

Aye, I can see where you'd think that. But it's not that in the slightest. I've never seen a squire or knight treated as anything so simple. You're important. That's why he picked you. [Thoster glances over at Wynn with a nod.] We don't always know why he did it, but he's given me no cause to doubt his judgement.

[ she... is dubious, though thoster's conviction in wynn does buoy his words. abigail just can't help thinking, mostly because of their youth, that the newest recruits weren't chosen to last very long.

This is a party, though. We should be celebrating your arrival! I, for one, and quite glad to meet you.

[ she is still wary, but that's her default state, and she shrugs a little in answer. ] I'm not really a party girl.

Well, a party can be whatever you make it. Doesn't have to be this. Doesn't have to be anything. So long as you're happy.

That's the truth of it. It's polite to come to them if you're mentoring one of the new ones, but that'll be a while off yet.

[ um yes please a while off, like maybe never. never is when abigail would like to mentor people. heck, she would be happy staying a squire forever and never have anyone really depending on her. ] Are you mentoring anyone?

Well, he's a captain and he's got a hook for a hand. Seems to fit the bill, I'd say.
