The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

More or less. I had been doing some off the books work in Atlanta, Georgia when I was recruited. I didn't really ... have anything else. Just drifting.

Who was it that brought you in, if you don't mind me asking?

[ she was just... curious, and so she just nods in recognition of the name ] You know, we have others here whose powers rely are their... empathy, or something like that, if you'd like me to introduce you to them.

[he tilts his head at this new information, curious but apprehensive.] I've never met anyone like me before.

I'm not certain their talents are identical to yours, I just know they've made mention of the empathetic approach their powers require.

Where I'm from, there wasn't really any ... magic, or powers. Nothing like that. After being here, I don't know if what I have is some kind of power or just [he finger quotes this; he's obviously repeating someone else's words] "a unique cocktail of personality disorders and neuroses that makes me a highly skilled profiler."

[ she can't help but smirk at the quotations, ok ] I'm fairly certain that's how they classified most powers in this world before they discovered there was such a thing as magic.

Whatever it is you possess, you only wish to use it to help others, it seems, so unless it's of importance to you, I don't believe we require any labels to describe your... abilities.

I prefer to avoid labels entirely, actually. I was a ... fascination. An oddity. Psychiatrists were lining up around the block, dying for a chance to slap a label on me.

Well, I assure you, the only label you need wear here is Sir.

That's a label I'm all right with.

That's good to hear. [ she gives him a small smile before looking down into her drink ] We'll talk again soon. I'll have to set up an orientation, of sorts, and if you'd like - after you've had time to think on it - I can help make a few introductions to the others I mentioned.

[ she laughs softly ] No more parties, at least none you're forced to attend. Your orientation will be much more reserved, I promise.
